CAREANDMAINTENANCE

Emptythedriptray/waterinletandthewaterreservoir.
Washlid, steamingbowl,ricebowlanddriptrayinhot,soapywater,rinseand
dryallparts.
Cleanreservoirwithsoapywaterthenwipewithdampcloth.
Donotuseabrasivecleaners.
The lower/middle steaming bowl and the rice bowl can be stored inside the
uppersteamingbowlwiththelidontop.
Inhardwater areas, thescalemaybuild up on the heatingelement.If scale is
allowed to accumulate, food may not be cooked properly in the given time.
Elementshouldbe cleanedevery7‐10uses.Pour3cupsclear vinegarintothe
waterreservoirthenfillwaterup tomaxwater level.Do notuse lid,steaming
bowl,ricebowl&driptrayinthisprocedure.
Plug in set timer up to 20 minutes. When the timer rings, unplug cord from
outlet.Allow theunittocoolcompletelybeforeemptyingthe waterreservoir.
Usethecoldwatertorinsethewaterreservoirserveraltimes.
REHEATING:BREADSANDLEFTOVERS
o Unplugcordfromoutlet.BeforecleaningallowSteamertocool.Neverimmersethe
base,CordandPluginwater.
o Donotwraporcoverwhenreheatingbreads.
o Forleftovers,reheatingtimesarebasedonfoodsatrefrigeratortemperatures.
o When reheating leftovers in the rice bowl, always spread leftovers evenly in RICE
BOWLanduseaAluminumfoiltocover.
o Experimentwithyourownleftovers.
RICEGRAINS
o There aremanytypesofrice.Followspecificdirectionsforvarietyused.
o Accurately measure rice and water then combined in rice bowl. Pour specified
amountofwaterinwaterreservoir.Coverandsteam.
o For soften rice, increase amount of water by 1‐2 tablespoons. For firmer rice,
decreaseamountofwaterby1‐2tablespoons.
o Checkconsistencyofriceatminimumtimespecifiedforeachtype,stirringriceatthe
sametime.
o Whenchecking/stirringrice,becarefulnottodripthecondensateintothericebowl
whichwouldreducethequalityandflavorofthesteamedrice.
o Useonlycleanwaterinwaterreservoir.
