4 x Faults and malfunctions
Room cooling does not
cool
Water flow too low.
Ɣ Check that all stop valves of the water circuit are
completely open.
Ɣ Check that the expansion tank is defective.
Ɣ Bleed system completely.
Ɣ On the controller (rotary switch setting "Info" )
check whether there is adequate water pressure
(> 0.3 bar).
Ɣ Check that the resistance in the water circuit is not too
high for the pump (see installation manual for
"Technical Data").
"cooling" turned off (e.g. switching time pro-
gramme is in the setback phase, exterior tem-
perature too low).
Ɣ Check the operating mode setting.
Ɣ Check the request parameters.
Ɣ Check the setting of time a weekday in the control
system.
Refrigerant compressor is not working.
Ɣ Wait until minimum water temperature is reached
(15 °C). At a low water temperature the system may
use the optional backup heater (BUH) first to reach the
minimum water temperature.
Ɣ Have the system checked by a ROTEX heating
technician.
System is in the operating mode "heating". Ɣ Switch the operating mode to "cooling".

cooling too little
Water flow too low.
Ɣ Check that all stop valves of the water circuit are
completely open.
Ɣ Check that the water filter is dirty.
Ɣ Check that the expansion tank is defective.
Ɣ Bleed system completely.
Ɣ On the controller (rotary switch setting "Info" )
check whether there is adequate water pressure
(> 0.3 bar).
Ɣ Check that the resistance in the water circuit is not too
high for the pump (see installation manual for
"Technical Data").
Water volume in system too low
Ɣ Check water volume and associated primary pressure
in expansion container, top-up water level if necessary
and reconfigure primary pressure (see installation
manual for "Minimum Flow").
Quantity of refrigerant in the system too low or
too high.
Ɣ Have coolant level checked by a ROTEX technician.
Have him check the system for leaks.
Circulation pump is being
excessively noisy while
running
Air in the water circuit Ɣ Bleed the entire water circuit.
Noises caused by vibrations.
Ɣ Check the HPSU compact, its components and covers
to ensure they are fastened correctly.
Bearings damage in the circulation pump. Ɣ Reduce speed of pump, replace circulation pump.
Water pressure at pump inlet too low.
Ɣ On the controller (rotary switch setting "Info" )
check whether there is adequate water pressure
(> 0.3 bar).
Ɣ Check that the pressure gauge is working correctly
(connect an external pressure gauge).
Ɣ Check that the expansion tank is not defective and that
the primary pressure has been set correctly (see
installation manual).
