Switching Modes: Memory/Manual
• The RM-45 can switch between Memory (MR) mode [pre-programmed
channels], or Manual (VFO) mode [manually entered frequencies] by
pressing the P1 button on the face of the radio.
• Pre-programmed channels are easily identified by a small channel
number and channel name (also known as an alpha tag).
Entering a Custom Frequency:
To perform this operation, you must first be in VFO Mode.
• Press P2 to set the desired MHz using the Channel Dial.
Scan Mode:
Scan Mode allows you to scan through all of the programmed channels
to look for radio traffic.
• Press P5 to enter scan mode.
Keypad Lock/Unlock:
• TO LOCK/UNLOCK: Press and hold the P5 button on the radio for two
seconds. A small symbol will appear/disappear on the top right
corner of the display to confirm that the keypad is locked/unlocked.
