Installing Radio and Antenna
1. Find a location in the vehicle for radio. Make
sure the hand mic will be accessible for driver &
passenger.
2. Using the supplied hardware and mounting
bracket, secure radio to the mounting location.
3. Find a location for hand mic, and mount hand
mic clip/mount.
4. Route coax cable from the back of the radio to a
clear area on roof, or metal tab on vehicle.
5. Connect power cables from radio to 12v battery.
Helpful Hints
1. DO NOT mount the radio where it can get wet, or
damaged.
2. Use the supplied power cables to connect directly
to a 12v battery.
3. DO NOT route power cables to fuse box or any
other power source, must go directly to battery.
4. IMPORTANT! If there is any excess coax cable after
installation DO NOT COIL THE CABLE! Coiling coax
cable will cause transmit problems and limit radio
range. Ideally, the coax should be cut to exact length
and recrimped with connectors. However if that is
not an option, route the cable further around the car
so there are no kinks.
5. If your using a GROUND PLANE Antenna, it must
be mounted on a metal surface area that is at least
3ft x 3ft.
