C FILLING
1 Remove the carafe from the hotplate.
2 Use the grip to open the lid, and expose the reservoir.
3 Fill with at least 2 cups of water, but not above the max mark.
4 Put filter-ground coffee into the filter. The amount will vary with
the type of coffee and individual taste, but we suggest two
rounded teaspoons per cup of water.
5 Close the lid.
6 Replace the carafe on the hotplate.
C SWITCH ON
7 Put the plug into the power socket
a) everything will light up, beep, and go out
b) the display will flash for a few seconds
c) it’ll beep, stop flashing, and settle at 12:00 AM
Y BREW STRENGTH
8 If you’re brewing less than 5 cups of coffee, press the Y button.
It slows the brewing process, so your coffee will have the same
strength as coffee from a full carafe.
9 The Y light will glow and a “smiley” mug will show in the
display.
10 Pressing the Y button again will deactivate the feature, the Y
light will go out, and the “smiley” mug will disappear.
C COFFEE NOW
11 Press the X button. The X light will glow.
12 Shortly afterwards, coffee will start to drip into the carafe.
C KEEP WARM
13 When it has finished brewing, it’ll go into keep warm mode.
14 The X light will flash, and the hotplate will keep the carafe
warm for about 2 hours, then it’ll shut off.
15 The display will change to 0:00, then count up, to show how long
the coffee has been sitting.
16 Chemical changes in the coffee liquor start to affect the flavour
after about an hour.
