The Russell Hobbs Sensigence Intelligent Blender (RHBL2000) is a household appliance designed for blending various ingredients. It comes with a 2-year warranty and is intended for domestic use and similar applications such as staff kitchen areas, farmhouses, hotels, motels, and bed & breakfast environments.
Function Description:
The Sensigence Intelligent Blender is designed to blend fresh or frozen fruits, other ingredients into thick smoothies, liquefy frozen drinks, and prepare soup ingredients. It features adaptive blending programs that sense the resistance level of ingredients and adjust the blending cycle accordingly for optimal results. The blender operates with a motor unit, a glass jug, a blade unit, a collar, a lid, and a cap.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Capacity: The blending jug has a maximum fill mark of 1500ml.
- Power: The motor unit operates only when the glass jug is fully inserted.
- Safety: The appliance is equipped with safety features such as automatic shut-off when the motor overheats (Error 2) and a requirement for the lid and measuring cap to be in place during operation to prevent liquid ejection. It also includes a safety switch (RCD) recommendation for electrical outlets.
- Hot Liquids: Hot liquids/ingredients (above 40°C) must never be placed in the blending jug to prevent sudden steaming, ejection, or jug breakage.
Usage Features:
- Control Panel: The blender features a touch-screen control panel that activates upon connection to the mains supply. It reverts to standby mode after 30 seconds of inactivity.
- Manual Operation:
- Standby: Tap the power symbol to switch the blender in or out of standby mode.
- Stop: Tap the square symbol to stop blending or the active program.
- Start: Tap the triangle symbol to start blending or the selected program.
- Speed Control: A slider control allows users to swipe left or right, or tap along its length, to select or modify the speed. Tapping '+' sets the speed to maximum, and tapping '-' sets it to minimum.
- Pulse Operation / Ice Crush:
- Tap the ice crush/pulse symbol to enter this mode. The symbol will flash.
- Tap and hold the ice crush/pulse symbol again to run the blender at maximum speed for as long as the finger is in contact with the icon. Releasing the finger stops the operation.
- For ice crushing, it's recommended to add a little water to the ice cubes and avoid overloading the jug.
- Adaptive Blending Programmes:
- Smoothie: Blends fresh or frozen fruits and other ingredients into thick smoothies (represented by a glass symbol with a straw).
- Icy Drink: Liquefies frozen drinks (represented by a glass symbol with ice).
- Soup: Prepares soup ingredients (represented by a bowl symbol). Note: Hot liquids/ingredients should not be placed in the blending jug.
- These programs run and stop automatically, with lights on the slider control indicating progress. The blender adapts speed based on ingredient resistance.
- Adding Ingredients: Ingredients can be added during operation by removing the cap and pouring them through the hole in the lid, ensuring the 1500ml mark is not exceeded.
- Overheating Protection: The motor should not run for longer than 2 minutes continuously to prevent overheating. A rest/cooling period of at least 2 minutes is recommended between operations if further blending is required.
- Error Signals:
- Error 1: Three quick flashes followed by a longer flash indicate a large air bubble due to a dry mixture. Users should dismiss the error, add liquid, stir ingredients, and restart.
- Error 2: Constant flashing indicates motor overheating. Unplug the blender and allow it to cool for 20 minutes.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning:
- Always unplug the blender before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior of the motor unit with a clean, damp cloth.
- Removable parts (jug, lid, cap, collar, blade unit) can be hand-washed.
- The jug, lid, and cap are dishwasher safe, preferably on the top rack.
- The blade unit can be removed for cleaning: unscrew the collar, lift out the blade unit, wash in warm soapy water, rinse, and air dry. Reassemble by refitting the blade unit, replacing the collar, and screwing it firmly onto the jug.
- Blade Handling: Exercise extreme care and caution when handling the sharp cutting blades during emptying and cleaning to avoid injury.
- Environmental Disposal: E-waste (appliances with a plug, battery, or cord) should be disposed of through controlled recycling facilities, not general household waste. Contact local councils or waste disposal services for information.
