This document is a user manual for the Russell Hobbs Model RHF202P bagless vacuum cleaner.
The Russell Hobbs RHF202P is a bagless vacuum cleaner designed for household use, offering efficient cleaning with its 2000W motor and cyclonic Hepa filtration system. Its primary function is to remove dust, dirt, and debris from various surfaces, including floors, carpets, curtains, and upholstery. The bagless design eliminates the need for disposable dust bags, making it a more economical and environmentally friendly option.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Power: 2000W
- Filtration System: Hepa Cyclonic (includes Pre-filter, HEPA filter, and Air Outlet filter)
- Dust Collection: Bagless dust bin
- Warranty: 2-year warranty
Usage Features:
The vacuum cleaner comes with several attachments and features to enhance its versatility and ease of use:
- Hose: Connects to the main unit and various tools.
- Extendable Tube: Allows for extended reach, useful for floors, carpets, and hard-to-reach areas. It features a tube release button for easy adjustment of length.
- Nozzle Suction Control: Located on the nozzle, this control allows users to reduce the grip of the tools on surfaces, which is particularly useful for tight loop-pile carpets where strong suction might make the tool difficult to move. Moving it towards the nozzle end reduces suction, while moving it away increases suction.
- Variable Speed Control: Located on the main unit, this control adjusts the suction power and volume of air drawn into the vacuum. Moving the control towards the dust bin increases suction power, and moving it towards the back of the vacuum decreases suction power. This is ideal for cleaning delicate materials like drapes.
- Combination Floor Tool: This versatile tool can be used with the extendable tube for both hard floors and carpets. It features a brush pedal:
- Pressing the rear of the pedal extends bristles for hard floor coverings (vinyl, tiles, timber).
- Pressing the front of the pedal retracts bristles for soft floor coverings (rugs, carpets).
- Upholstery Tool: Designed for removing pet hair, lint, and dust from curtains, fabrics, chairs, and lounges. It can be used with or without the extendable tube.
- Crevice Tool with Small Brush Attachment: Ideal for removing pet hair, lint, and dust from awkward, hard-to-reach places. The small brush is detachable.
- Power Cord: Features a cord rewind button for convenient storage. A yellow band indicates approximately one meter of cord remaining, and a red band indicates half a meter remaining, signaling users to stop pulling.
- On/Off Switch: A simple button to power the cleaner on and off.
- Carrying Handle: For easy transportation of the vacuum cleaner. It is important to use this handle for carrying, as lifting by the dust bin handle will unlock and remove the dust bin.
Maintenance Features:
Regular maintenance, particularly cleaning the filters and emptying the dust bin, is crucial for maintaining the vacuum cleaner's performance and longevity.
- Removing and Emptying the Dust Bin:
- The dust bin should be emptied regularly, although the cleaner will function until it's full.
- To remove, pull the dust bin handle up.
- To empty, lower the dust bin into a rubbish bin (below the rim to prevent dust dispersal) and press the dust bin door release button.
- The cone filter inside the dust bin can be twisted anti-clockwise to remove for cleaning and clockwise to lock back into position.
- Cleaning the Filters: The vacuum cleaner features a multi-stage filtration system:
- Pre-filter: Located on the HEPA filter casing, it stops large particles. It can be tapped gently to dislodge dust or washed in warm soapy water, rinsed, and air-dried completely before refitting.
- HEPA Filter: Responsible for cleaning return air. It can be tapped gently to dislodge dust or washed in warm soapy water, rinsed, and air-dried completely before refitting.
- Air Outlet Filter: Located on the back of the vacuum cleaner, behind a removable grille. It can be tapped gently to dislodge dust or washed in warm soapy water, rinsed, and air-dried completely before refitting.
- Filter Assembly: The HEPA filter and Pre-filter are part of an assembly located on the back of the dust bin, secured by a top latch.
- Cleaning the Vacuum Cleaner and Tools:
- Always switch off and unplug the cleaner before cleaning.
- Do not put any part of the cleaner in a dishwasher.
- Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.
- External surfaces can be wiped with a damp cloth.
- Tools can be wiped with a damp cloth or hand-washed in warm soapy water, rinsed, and air-dried.
- The extendable tube and hose can be wiped with a damp cloth; do not immerse them in water.
- The dust bin can be washed in warm soapy water (after removing all filters), rinsed, and air-dried.
- Addressing Blockages:
- Reduced suction or increased noise often indicates a blockage.
- Switch off and unplug the cleaner.
- Check tools, hose, and dust bin for blockages.
- Remove blockages manually; avoid sharp objects.
- Check all filters.
- Reassemble the cleaner. If the blockage persists, contact customer service.

The manual lists specific part numbers for user-replaceable filters, which can be purchased from customer service:

- HEPA Filter: SPRHF202-HF
