The Russell Hobbs Sabre Cordless Handheld Stick Vacuum, model numbers RHHS3001/3501, is a versatile cleaning appliance designed for household use. This cordless vacuum offers the convenience of a handheld unit combined with the functionality of a stick vacuum, making it suitable for various cleaning tasks around the home.
The Sabre Cordless Handheld Stick Vacuum is primarily designed for dry vacuuming. It operates on battery power, providing freedom from power cords and allowing for easy movement throughout the house. The core of the device is the handheld unit, which houses the motor, dust bin, and battery. This unit can be used independently for quick clean-ups or combined with an extension tube and a powered floorhead to transform into a stick vacuum for larger areas and floor cleaning. The vacuum features a power switch to start operation and an Eco mode for energy-efficient cleaning. It is equipped with a detachable dust bin and a filter system to capture dust and debris effectively. The charging system includes a charging cable and adaptor, along with a docking cradle for convenient storage and charging.
The Sabre vacuum is designed for ease of assembly and use. Before first use, it is crucial to charge the cleaner for a full 5 hours until the charging indicator light illuminates solid blue, indicating a full charge. The vacuum will not power on when it is charging.
Assembly involves connecting the powered floorhead to the handheld unit, either directly or via the extension tube. To attach the floorhead directly, align the pins and push it onto the nozzle of the handheld unit until it clicks into place. For extended reach, the extension tube can be attached to the handheld unit first, followed by the floorhead onto the extension tube, ensuring all pins are aligned and click securely. Removal of the floorhead or extension tube is achieved by pressing the red release button on the respective component and pulling it away.
Once assembled and charged, the vacuum is ready for use. To operate, unplug the charger and place the floorhead on the floor. Press the power switch on the top of the handheld unit to start the vacuum. For general cleaning, move the cleaner floorhead in a forwards and backwards motion over the desired areas. For energy saving, Eco mode can be enabled by pressing the button on the left side of the unit. To turn off the vacuum, press the power switch again.
The vacuum comes with a 2-in-1 brush and crevice tool, which enhances its versatility. This attachment can be used for dusting delicate surfaces (brush tool) or reaching narrow gaps and hard-to-reach places (crevice tool). To use, attach the connecting joint to the handheld unit, then push the 2-in-1 attachment into the joint. For the brush tool, slide the brush to the end of the tool until it clicks. To expose the crevice tool, push the button on the end of the brush tool and slide the brush back until it clicks.
It is important to note that large items should be picked up manually before vacuuming to prevent them from getting trapped in the brush/floorhead, which could lead to overheating. The vacuum is not designed to be left standing upright, as this can cause it to fall and sustain damage. It should also not be used outdoors or on wet surfaces, nor should it be used to vacuum any liquid substances or flammable, burning, or smoking materials.
Regular maintenance is essential to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the Sabre vacuum.
Emptying the Dust Container: The dust container should be emptied before the 'MAX' fill line is reached. To empty, hold the dust container over a bin or inside a bin bag, then pull the catch below the nozzle to open the bottom and release the dust. It is recommended to empty the dust container outdoors to avoid creating a dust cloud. After emptying, ensure the bottom of the dust container is correctly closed.
Cleaning the Filter: The filter requires regular cleaning to maintain suction power. First, turn off and unplug the cleaner. Empty the dust container, then remove it by twisting anti-clockwise. Using the filter handle, gently remove the filter from the container. Twist the filter housing away from the filter. To clean the filter, remove excess dust using a soft brush and wash it in warm water. Allow the filter to air dry for 24 hours before reassembling. Incorrectly replacing the filters and container can lead to decreased performance. Filters may need replacing after approximately 6 months of regular use.
Cleaning the Floorhead: The floorhead should be cleaned periodically to remove tangled hair or debris that can impede its function. Remove the floorhead from the unit. Push and pull the lock on the brush cover to remove the brush bar. Clear any tangled hair or debris from the brush bar and check for blockages in the brush head. Replace the brush bar, ensuring it is correctly positioned and clicks into place.
General Cleaning: Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is switched off and not on the charging stand. The exterior of the device can be cleaned with a damp, soft cloth and mild detergent. Non-electrical removable accessories can be washed in warm soapy water and allowed to dry thoroughly before next use. It is crucial to never immerse the vacuum in water.
Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the cleaner not turning on (check charge, charging cable, power button), decreased suction (empty dust container, clean filters, check for blockages), overheating (clean filters), dust coming out of the vacuum (check dust container fitting, clean filters), and reduced battery run time (worn battery).
Storage: When not in use, the vacuum should be stored in a clean and dry environment.
The Russell Hobbs Sabre Cordless Handheld Stick Vacuum is designed to be a user-friendly and easy-to-maintain cleaning tool for everyday household needs.
