Overview

The RWD DSC-400 Single Cell Suspension Dissociator is an automatic tissue processing instrument designed for researchers, hospitals, and third-party testing organizations. Its primary function is to process animal tissue blocks into single-cell suspensions or homogenates, catering to the needs of animal cell and molecular biology research. The prepared single-cell suspensions are suitable for experiments such as flow analysis, single-cell sequencing, or primary cell culture. Homogenate preparation is a crucial step for nucleic acid or protein extraction, with isolated proteins usable for immunoblotting, ELISA, and other experiments, and nucleic acids for PCR amplification and real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR assay.

Usage Features:

The DSC-400 offers a dual-use capability, allowing the application of different reagent supplies and procedures to process tissue into either single-cell suspensions or homogenates. Its four independent channels enhance operational efficiency, enabling the simultaneous processing of different samples. The user-friendly programming interface allows users to invoke both default and custom programs.

The device features a 7-inch touch screen for intuitive operation. Upon startup, the [Home] interface displays the status of each channel (e.g., "Installed" or "Free"). Users can select and invoke programs from either "User program" or "Default program" lists. Programs can be assigned to specific channels, and multiple channels can run independently.

During operation, users can pause or end a running channel via the touch screen. The device also supports program editing, allowing modification of step types, speeds, durations, and directions. Users can insert or delete steps and stages within a program. Stages can be configured with cycle times (1 to 10) and heating options (ON/OFF).

The system includes a "Setting" interface for various configurations, including language selection (Chinese or English), display brightness adjustment, and viewing operation history. The history records indicate whether a program completed successfully (green) or ended manually/abnormally (red). Users can also import and export programs via a USB-A port, facilitating program sharing and backup. The "Date & time" setting allows for precise time configuration, and the "Version" section provides system software information.

Maintenance Features:

The DSC-400 is designed with ease of maintenance in mind, with several components being removable for cleaning and disinfection.

  • Cleaning:

    • Always remove the single cell tube when the device is not in use.
    • Wipe the device with a dry cloth if any liquid overflows.
    • Disinfection is recommended using a wet cloth soaked in 70% ethanol or 1% hypochlorite solution.
    • General cleaning can be done with a wet cloth soaked in household detergent or 70% ethanol; avoid soaking the device in solutions or using acetone, corrosive liquids, or aerosol cleaners.
    • The shield and cleaning tank are removable for cleaning and disinfection. Other components are not removable.
    • The cleaning tank automatically collects overflowing liquid; this liquid should be drawn out with a pipette before removing the tank for cleaning.
    • Always unplug the power cord before cleaning.
    • To remove the shield, lift it upward.
    • To remove the cleaning tank, gently press the two buckles inward with both hands.
    • Wipe device surfaces and other components with a wet cloth soaked in household detergent or 70% ethanol, followed by a second wipe with distilled water.
    • An alkaline cleaner is recommended for cleaning removed shields, bushings, and cleaning tanks.
    • When reinstalling components, align the holes and numbers for the cleaning tank, then install the bushings, and finally align the buckles for the shield. A slight clicking sound indicates correct installation.
  • Repair:

    • Users are advised not to open the enclosure for self-repair to prevent mechanical injury or electric shock.
    • For testing or repair, contact RWD after-sales personnel.
    • Before returning the device for repair, it and all components must be sterilized and packed in their original packaging.
  • Waste Disposal:

    • Single cell tubes and waste liquids must be disposed of in strict accordance with local waste disposal policies and regulations. Disinfection is required before disposal.
  • Warranty:

    • The system comes with a warranty from the date of factory departure, covering defects in materials or processes.
    • Damage due to incorrect or out-of-range use is not covered, and repair costs will be borne by the user.
    • Unauthorized disassembly of the device voids the warranty and after-sales services.
