What to do if Ryobi RBC-43 Brush Cutter engine does not reach full speed and emits excessive smoke?
    • R
      Rachel IbarraAug 21, 2025
If your Ryobi Brush Cutter engine does not reach full speed and emits excessive smoke, it could be due to a few reasons. First, check the oil fuel mixture and use fresh fuel and the correct 2-cycle oil mix. Second, the air filter might be dirty, so clean the air filter. Refer to “Replacing and Cleaning Air Filter” earlier in this manual. Finally, the spark arrestor screen might be dirty, in this case contact a servicing dealer.

Why does grass wrap around the driveshaft housing and line head of my Ryobi RBC-43 Brush Cutter?
    • W
      Whitney LewisAug 28, 2025
Grass may wrap around the driveshaft housing and line head of your Ryobi Brush Cutter if you are cutting tall grass at ground level. To prevent this, cut tall grass from the top down. Also, ensure you are operating the trimmer at full throttle.

What to do if Ryobi RBC-43 line will not advance when using the Line tap system?
    • L
      leonardjenniferAug 31, 2025
If the line on your Ryobi Brush Cutter will not advance when using the Line tap system, there are several potential causes. The line may be welded to itself, in which case you should lubricate it with silicone spray. There might not be enough line on the spool, so install a new spool. The line may be worn too short; pull the lines while alternately pressing down on and releasing the spool retainer. The line could also be tangled on the spool, so remove the line from the spool and rewind it. Finally, the engine speed may be too slow, so advance the line at full throttle.

Why is the spool retainer hard to turn when using Line tap system on my Ryobi RBC-43 Brush Cutter?
    • E
      Erica JonesSep 3, 2025
If the spool retainer is hard to turn when using the Line tap system on your Ryobi Brush Cutter, the screw threads may be dirty or damaged. Clean the threads and lubricate them with grease.

Why does oil drip from the muffler of my Ryobi Brush Cutter?
    • F
      Fernando MoyerSep 6, 2025
Oil may drip from the muffler of your Ryobi Brush Cutter if you are operating the trimmer at part throttle, so operate the trimmer at full throttle. Also, check the oil/fuel mixture and use fresh fuel and the correct 2-stroke oil mix. Finally, a dirty air filter can cause this issue, so clean per instruction in Maintenance Section.

Why Ryobi RBC-43 Brush Cutter engine will not start?
    • P
      Patricia SteinNov 14, 2025
The Ryobi Brush Cutter engine may fail to start due to several reasons. It could be due to no spark. To check the spark, remove the spark plug, reattach the spark plug cap, and lay the spark plug on the metal cylinder. Pull the starter rope and watch for a spark at the spark plug tip. If there is no spark, repeat the test with a new spark plug. Another reason could be no fuel. Push the primer bulb until it is full of fuel. If the bulb does not fill, the primary fuel delivery system is blocked, contact a servicing dealer. If the primer bulb fills, the engine may be flooded. Remove the spark plug and turn the machine so the spark plug hole is aimed at the ground. Move the choke lever to “OPEN” and pull the starter cord 10 to 15 times to clear excess fuel from the engine.
