TROUBLESHOOTING
IF THESE SOLUTIONS DO NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, CONTACT YOUR AUTHORIZED SERVICING DEALER.
PROBLEM CAUSE REMEDY
Engine fails to start. No fuel in tank.
Spark plug is fouled.
Spark plug is broken. (cracked
porcelain or electrodes broken)
Ignition lead wire shorted, broken, or
disconnected from spark plug.
Ignition inoperative.
Fill tank.
Replace spark plug.
Replace spark plug.
Replace lead wire or attach to spark
plug.
Contact authorised service center.
Engine is ooded. Remove spark plug, turn blower to aim
spark plug hole at the ground. Adjust
the choke lever to “RUN” position
and pull starter cord 10-15 times. This
will clear excess fuel from the engine.
Remove any fuel which is splashed on
the unit. Clean and reinstall spark plug.
Clean up any spilled fuel and move at
least 9 m away before restarting. Pull
starter cord 3 times with choke lever
at “RUN” position. If engine does not
start, rotate choke lever to “COLD
START” position and repeat normal
starting procedure. If engine still fails
to start, repeat procedure with a new
spark plug.
Engine hard to start. Water in petrol or stale fuel mixture.
Too much lubricant in fuel mixture.
Engine is under or over choked.
Weak spark at spark plug.
Drain entire system and rell with fresh
fuel.
Drain and rell with correct mixture.
Adjust choke as necessary.
Contact authorised service center.
Engine lacks power. Air lter clogged. Clean air lter. Refer to Cleaning the
Air Filter earlier in this manual.
Engine overheats. Insufcient lubricant in fuel mixture. Mix fuel as described in operating
instructions.
