How to fix Ryobi RLT30CD Trimmer if engine will not start?
- RRicky SimmonsJul 31, 2025
If your Ryobi Trimmer engine won't start, begin by checking for a spark. Remove the spark plug, reattach the cap, and lay the plug on the metal cylinder. Pull the starter rope and watch for a spark at the plug tip. If there's no spark, try again with a new spark plug. Also, make sure the engine isn't flooded. Remove the spark plug and turn the unit so the spark plug hole faces the ground. Rotate the choke dial to “ ” position and pull the starter cord 10 to 15 times to clear excess fuel. Clean and reinstall the spark plug. Finally, ensure the engine is getting fuel by pushing the primer bulb until it's full. If the bulb doesn't fill, the primary fuel delivery system may be blocked.
