Do you have a question about the Ryobi RY140PWA and is the answer not in the manual?
This document describes the RY140PWA-P electric high-pressure cleaner, designed for outdoor domestic use. It is intended for cleaning machines, vehicles, buildings, floors, tools, facades, terraces, and concrete walkways by removing stubborn dirt using clean water, with or without detergent. The product is designed for two-handed operation and should be used in well-illuminated conditions.
Users must read and understand all instructions, warnings, and safety guidelines before operating the product. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury. Children and untrained individuals should not use the product. Always wear complete personal protective equipment, including boots, safety gloves, safety helmets with visors, and hearing protection. High-impact visors with liquid splash protection are recommended. Do not use the product when people are within range unless they are wearing protective clothing.
The high-pressure jet is dangerous if misused and should not be directed at people, animals, live electrical equipment, or the product itself. To avoid explosion risks, do not spray flammable liquids. Do not use the product to clean electronic devices, clothes, or footwear. High-pressure hoses, fittings, and couplings are critical for safety; only manufacturer-recommended parts should be used. Prolonged use of the tool can cause injuries, so regular breaks are advised.
The product must not be connected to a drinking water supply without a backflow preventer (EN 12729 Type BA). Water that has passed through a backflow preventer is considered non-drinkable. Local water utility regulations must be observed when connecting to a water supply.
The plug must match the outlet and should never be modified. Do not use the product if the power cord, safety devices, high-pressure hoses, or trigger gun are damaged. The power cord and extension cord should be checked for damage before each use and replaced by qualified personnel if damaged. Keep the power cord away from heat, oil, and sharp edges. Never touch the mains plug or socket with wet hands. Inadequate extension cords can be dangerous; if used, they must be suitable for outdoor use, kept dry, and off the ground (at least 60 mm above ground on a cord wheel). The electrical supply connection must be made by a qualified electrician and comply with IEC 60364-1. A residual current device (RCD) with a leakage current not exceeding 30 mA for 30 ms is recommended.
Before any cleaning operation, close doors and windows, and clear the area of debris, toys, outdoor furniture, or other objects that could create a hazard. Never pick up or carry the product while the motor is running. Do not use the product in temperatures below 0°C. Avoid using acids, alkalines, solvents, flammable materials, bleaches, or industrial-grade solutions, as these can cause injuries and irreversible damage to the product. Always operate the product on a level surface.
Hold the trigger handle securely with both hands, as it will move due to reaction forces when pulled. Ensure air is released from the hose and pump before turning on the product by connecting the water supply and trigger gun, then pressing the trigger until there is a steady flow. Exercise caution to avoid slipping or falling, maintain firm footing and balance, and avoid overreaching. Only use manufacturer-recommended accessories. Never leave the product running unattended; turn it off and wait for it to stop completely. Familiarize yourself with the controls, including how to stop the product and bleed pressure quickly. Stay alert and use common sense.
The product features an overload protection device that automatically shuts down power if overheating or a current spike occurs. To resume operation, disconnect the product from the power supply, wait approximately 15 minutes for it to cool down, and then reconnect it.
Be mindful of the product's weight when selecting storage locations or during transportation to prevent accidents. Stop the product, disconnect it from the power supply, and allow it to cool down. Disconnect from the water supply before storing or transporting. Always store the product upright. Clean all foreign materials from the product. Store it in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place inaccessible to children, away from corrosive agents like garden chemicals and de-icing salts. Do not store outdoors. Remove water from all hoses and the pump, and empty the detergent tank before storing. When transporting in a vehicle, secure the product against movement or falling. Store the product indoors only; temperatures below 0°C will damage it.
Use only original manufacturer's replacement parts, accessories, and attachments. Servicing requires extreme care and knowledge and should be performed only by a qualified service technician at an authorized service center. Turn off the product, disconnect the plug from the power outlet, and disconnect from the water supply. Allow the product to cool down before servicing, clearing blockages, or working on it. Adjustments or repairs described in this manual can be performed by the user; for other repairs, contact an authorized service center. Regularly inspect and maintain the high-pressure cleaner for safe operation; RYOBI recommends inspections every 6 months. Check all nuts, bolts, and screws frequently for proper tightness. Any damaged part should be repaired or replaced by an authorized service center.
