Why Ryobi RY80940 pump doesn’t produce pressure?
    • J
      Justin SerranoJul 26, 2025
There are several reasons why the pump isn't producing pressure. It could be due to the spray selector being set incorrectly; rotate it to the 40º, 25º, or 0º setting. Other potential causes include an inadequate water supply (provide adequate water flow), leaks in the trigger handle or spray wand (check connections and/or replace parts if needed), a clogged nozzle (clean the nozzle), air in the line (squeeze the trigger), a leaking hose (replace the hose), or kinks in the hose (eliminate the kinks). If the choke is in the START position, move it to the RUN position. If none of these solutions work, the pump may be faulty, requiring you to contact an authorized service center.

How to fix Ryobi RY80940 Pressure Washer when engine fails to start?
    • C
      Clifford BennettJul 31, 2025
If the engine fails to start, it could be due to several reasons: the fuel tank may be empty (fill the tank), the spark plug may be shorted or fouled (replace the spark plug), the spark plug may be broken (replace the spark plug), or the ignition lead wire may be shorted, broken, or disconnected (replace the lead wire or attach it to the spark plug). If the ignition is inoperative, contact an authorized service center.

Why is Ryobi RY80940 Pressure Washer engine hard to start?
    • C
      chapmanjamesAug 6, 2025
If the engine is hard to start, it could be due to water in the gasoline. Drain the entire system and refill with fresh fuel. Another possibility is a weak spark at the spark plug, in which case you should contact an authorized service center.

Why Ryobi RY80940 engine lacks power?
    • R
      rhonda55Aug 11, 2025
If the engine lacks power, it could be due to a dirty air filter (clean or replace the air filter). Also, air in the line can cause the idle down feature to perform incorrectly. With the engine off, squeeze the trigger until water comes out to remove air from the line.

How to fix Ryobi Pressure Washer when detergent fails to mix with spray?
    • L
      Laura FerrellAug 15, 2025
If the detergent fails to mix with the spray, it could be because the spray selector on the 5-in-1 Change Over Nozzle is set to either the 40º, 25º, or 0º setting. Rotate the spray selector to either the short range detergent or long range detergent setting. Another possibility is that the detergent tank is empty, so add detergent to the tank.

What to do if Ryobi RY80940 machine doesn’t reach high pressure?
    • H
      Hunter HenryAug 20, 2025
If your machine isn’t reaching high pressure, it might be due to a few reasons. The diameter of your garden hose may be too small; replace it with a 3/4 in. garden hose. There could be a restriction in the water supply; check your garden hose for kinks, leaks, and blockages. Make sure there's enough inlet water by opening the water source fully. Also, ensure the spray selector on the nozzle is correctly set to the 40º, 25º, or 0º setting.
