Remove grass and mowing deposits from the cylinder and cylinder ribs, under the
engine cover (8) and around the silencer.
Always keep the device in a clean state in a closed, dry room and inaccessible
to children.
18 TROUBLESHOOTING
Faults Possible causes Remedy
Engine does not start
Safety grip not pressed
down.
Press the safety grip to the
upper part of the
handlebar D .
Fuel tap closed. Open the fuel tap S2 .
Choke lever on the
engine in the operating
position.
Place the choke lever on the
engine in position
“Choke” S2 (see “Starting
the engine”).
Fuel tank is empty. Fill the fuel tank with clean
and fresh fuel.
Spark plug connector
loose.
Press on spark plug
connector or have it checked
by an authorised workshop.
Spark plug defective or
dirty or electrode
burnt out.
Replace or clean the spark
plug, set the electrode gap to
between 0.70 mm and 0.80
mm Y .
Excessive petrol
supply to engine
(spark plug wet).
Have it checked by an
authorised workshop.
Air filter soiled. Clean or replace the air filter
insert W .
The engine stops
Fuel tank is empty. Fill the fuel tank with clean
and fresh fuel.
Oil level too low. Refill with oil.
This engine is fitted with an
oil level sensor. If the oil level
is too low, the engine is
switched off.
Device tipped too far to
the side.
Do not tip the machine too far
to the side.
This engine is fitted with an
oil level sensor. If the oil level
is too low, the engine is
switched off.
Engine power
decreasing
Air filter soiled. Clean or replace the air filter
insert W .
Spark plug clogged with
soot.
Have it checked by an
authorised workshop.

nearest authorised workshop.
Repairs which require specialised knowledge should only be performed by a qualified
expert. Your authorised workshop will naturally also be glad to help if you do not wish to
perform the maintenance work described here yourself.
