Why won't my Salamander CT FORCE start?
    • S
      Shaun GarnerJul 27, 2025
If your Salamander Water Pump won't start, several factors could be at play. First, check for sufficient gravity flow and ensure the installation isn't in a negative head. Blocked inlet filters can also prevent the pump from starting, so inspect and clear them, ensuring a minimum flow rate of 2l/min on both hot and cold. Verify that the inlet/outlet connections are correctly plumbed and all valves are open. Examine the power supply, fuse, and circuit breaker for any electrical issues. Additionally, debris under the flow switch or a sticking float in the outlet can hinder starting, so remove outlet hoses to check the flow switch position and clear any debris in the outlet area. If the flow switch malfunctions, it is recommended to contact the Technical Advice Line.

What to do if my Salamander Water Pump is leaking?
    • S
      Sarah MorrisAug 6, 2025
If your Salamander Water Pump is leaking, it could be due to several reasons. The pump might be exposed to mains water pressure, in which case you should fit a break cistern or remove it from the mains supply. Chemical damage can also cause leaks, so ensure the pump hasn't come into contact with chemical substances like solder flux. Excessive temperature exposure is another potential cause; check if effective temperature control is fitted, such as a cylinder stat or HWS/TMV valve. If you're unsure about the leak's source, verify that it isn't coming from a fitting in the pipework above the pump.

How to reduce noise from my Salamander CT FORCE Water Pump?
    • P
      Patricia RyanAug 11, 2025
If your Salamander Water Pump is noisy, it could be due to several factors. Air in the system can cause noise. Ensure rubber feet are fitted to the pump to prevent it from vibrating on the surface. Additionally, AV couplers causing vibration can contribute to the noise; ensure that all AV couplers are straight and not bent or distorted.

Why does my Salamander Water Pump start when all outlets are closed?
    • K
      Kimberly PattersonAug 16, 2025
If your Salamander Water Pump starts with all outlets closed, it may be due to a leak in the system; check for leaks. Alternatively, an outlet may be open; ensure all outlets are fully closed or capped, meaning there should be no dead legs in the pipework.

Why is my Salamander CT FORCE above the hot cylinder noisy?
    • S
      sharonowensAug 21, 2025
If pumps above a hot cylinder become noisy or experience low pressure during use, it could be due to aeration or water starvation. An essex flange may be required for the hot connection to the cylinder. Also, ensure the pump is a minimum of 600mm below the cold water tank.

How to fix reduced flow in my Salamander CT FORCE Water Pump?
    • H
      heather21Oct 31, 2025
Reduced or intermittent flow in your Salamander Water Pump can stem from several issues. Ensure the correct anti-aeration flange is fitted. Insufficient gravity flow can also cause this problem. Check and clear blocked inlet filters, making sure both filters and the shower head are free from debris. Couplers restricting flow can also be a culprit; ensure all AV couplers are straight and not bent or distorted. Air in the system might be the cause, so run the system on full hot with the pump switched off for several minutes, verify the cold water storage is correct, ensure the cold water refill rate is adequate, and check that vents are fitted as instructed. Confirm the pump size is appropriate for the system. Lastly, a hot temperature set too high can lead to reduced flow; reduce the cylind...
