Usage Features

Installation Location:

  • Outdoor Unit: Must be installed on a rigid, stable, flat surface, not on its side or upside down. It should be in a dry, sunny location, not exposed to direct sunlight or strong winds. Sufficient clearance (e.g., 300mm from stereo systems, 200mm from air guide duct) is required. If installed near the seashore, a protection wall (1.5 times larger than the unit, 700mm clearance for ventilation) is recommended to block sea breeze.
  • Indoor Unit: Not suitable for laundry areas. Safety Precautions:
  • Always disconnect power before servicing.
  • Installation and testing must be performed by qualified personnel.
  • Do not install in easily accessible areas.
  • Ensure proper grounding connection.
  • Verify power supply voltage and frequency comply with specifications.
  • Use suitably dimensioned cut-off and protection switches.
  • Do not modify power cables, use extension wiring, or multiple wire connections.
  • Do not attempt to repair, move, alter, or reinstall the unit if unauthorized.
  • Do not place containers with liquids or other objects on the unit.
  • Avoid environments with hazardous substances or free flames.
  • Units must be installed with accessibility for maintenance and repairs. Refrigerant Handling:
  • The air conditioner contains refrigerant that must be disposed of as special waste at authorized centers.
  • Air in refrigeration pipes must be purged to prevent compressor damage and malfunction.
  • Refrigerant for air purging is not charged in the outdoor unit; a vacuum pump must be used. Testing Operations:
  • After installation, check power supply, indoor unit connections (power, communication, thermistor sensor, drain pump/hose, display), and outdoor unit PCB buttons.
  • Use the K2 button on the outdoor unit PCB to run and stop the test mode.
  • The K3 button can be pressed for over 1 second to reset the power supply of the outdoor unit.
  • A "View Mode" (accessed via K4 switch) provides system state information, including order frequency, current frequency, number of indoor units, sensor temperatures (outdoor air intake, discharge, Eva-In, Cond), current, fan RPM, target discharge temperature, EEV, capacity sum, protective control status, heat radiating plate temperature, and S/W check.

Maintenance Features

Regular Inspections:

  • Regularly inspect the unit, electrical connections, refrigerant tubes, and protections. These operations should be performed by qualified personnel only.
  • If installed near the seashore, clean the outdoor unit heat exchanger and spread corrosion inhibitor at least once a year.
  • Check product condition periodically (every 3 months) and perform anti-corrosion treatment (e.g., R-Pro supplied by Samsung or commercial water repellent grease and wax). Grounding:
  • Ensure correct grounding according to specifications, using a suitable grounding electrode.
  • The grounding wire for the telephone line cannot be used.
  • Measure grounding resistance with a ground resistance tester. Pump Down Procedure:
  • This procedure is used to collect all system refrigerant in the outdoor unit when replacing an evaporator or relocating the unit.
  • It involves running the system in cooling mode, closing high and low-pressure valves sequentially, and then stopping the air conditioner before disconnecting pipes. Troubleshooting:
  • The manual includes a "Troubleshooting" section with display codes and explanations for various errors, such as:
    • Compressor errors (freezing, overload, discharge temperature protection).
    • Power source errors (3-phase miss wiring).
    • Outdoor unit operation temperature range errors.
    • Condenser temperature sensor control errors.
    • Low pressure switch errors.
    • Fan errors (outdoor/indoor unit).
    • Sensor errors (outdoor temperature, condenser, discharge temperature, indoor unit temperature, heat exchanger input/output).
    • Floating switch errors (indoor unit).
    • Indoor terminal block thermal fuse errors.
    • Electronic expansion valve errors.
    • Indoor unit address overlap errors.
    • Communication errors (system down, indoor/outdoor, wired remote controller).
    • Wired remote controller option setting errors.
