Search Settings
You can configure some aspects of Google Web
search (for example, whether it makes suggestions
below the Quick Search Box as you type), and what
device features you want to include in searches.
Configuring Search Settings
1. Press > and tap > Search.
2. Tap any of the following search options to then
alter the settings:
䔲 Google search opens a screen where you can set
your Google search preferences.
ā Show web suggestions also includes search
matches from Googleās online search engine.
ā Use My Location allows the device to use your
current location to refine your Google search
results to include your location information.
ā Search history includes personalized search
history results in the list of matches.
ā Manage search history helps to organize the
personalized search history associated with
your current registered Google account.
䔲 Searchable items lets you specify the search
categories included in device searches.
ā Categories include: Web, Apps, Contacts,
Kindle, Messaging, Music or Voice Search.
䔲 Clear shortcuts erases the history of recently
selected search results.
Airplane Mode
Airplane mode allows you to use many of your deviceās
features, such as games and music when you are in an
airplane or in any other area where using data services
is prohibited. When you set your device to airplane
mode, it cannot send or receive any data.
1. Press and hold to reveal the Device
options screen.
2. Tap Airplane mode.
