Function Description:
The Samsung Range Hood is designed for residential use to ventilate cooking fumes and vapors from the kitchen. It can operate in two primary modes: ducted (venting outdoors) or non-vented (recirculating) with a charcoal filter. The hood features a Smart mode that automatically adjusts fan speed based on kitchen air quality, and a Boost mode for powerful, short-term exhaust. It also includes lighting with adjustable levels and a filter cleaning reminder. The range hood is equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing integration with the Samsung SmartThings app for remote control, smart ventilation features, and AI Energy Mode. Voice control through Bixby, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant is also supported.

Usage Features:
- Power On/Off: Short press of the Power button.
- Operation Modes: Cycles through Smart, Low, Medium, High, and Boost modes with a short press of the Mode button. Smart mode is the initial default.
- Smart Ventilation Mode: Automatically adjusts fan speed based on kitchen air quality (PM10, PM2.5, PM1.0 concentrations). Can be set via the SmartThings app. If kitchen air quality is bad, it operates in High mode; if improved, it adjusts to a suitable mode. Automatically turns off after 2 hours of operation.
- Boost Mode: Provides maximum speed ventilation (630 CFM) for powerful exhaust. Activated by pressing the Mode button for 10 seconds. Requires a make-up air system.
- Lighting Control: Short press of the Light button cycles through High, Low, and Off light modes.
- Air Quality Display: Shows PM10, PM2.5, and PM1.0 concentrations with color indicators (Red for Very Poor, Yellow for Poor, Green for Moderate, Blue for Good). Displays the worst air quality value or cycles through all if values are low.
- Language Settings: Pressing the Mode button for 3 seconds allows changing the display language (English, Español, Français).
- Wi-Fi On/Off: Pressing the Mode button for 5 seconds toggles Wi-Fi connectivity.
- AI Energy Mode: Saves energy by optimizing usage based on expected monthly usage and goals. Only available in Smart mode and controllable via the SmartThings app.
- Automatic Overheating Prevention: If the hood temperature rises when off, it automatically turns on in Medium mode until temperature stabilizes or the power button is pressed.
- SmartThings App Integration: Allows remote control, smart ventilation, AI Energy Mode, and other features. Requires a Samsung account and the SmartThings app.
- Voice Assistant Integration: Compatible with Bixby, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant for voice control of certain functions.
Maintenance Features:
- Filter Cleaning Reminder: An audible alarm and "Filter needs Cleaning" message appear on the display. Press and hold the Light button for 3 seconds for information.
- Filter Cleaning Procedure: Filters can be cleaned by pressing the Mode button, following instructions, and then resetting the filter usage time by pressing the Light button for 3 seconds. Filters should be soaked in lukewarm water with neutral detergent for 10 minutes, then rinsed and cleaned. Dishwasher cleaning is possible for a short time at low temperature.
- Sensor Unit Cleaning: Remove the sensor cover on the left side of the lower duct cover and clean the front/back of the sensor cover with a vacuum cleaner. Recommended every 6 months to prolong sensor life.
- LED Lamp Replacement: The product uses a dedicated LED lamp. For replacement, contact the service center.
- General Cleaning: Wipe the front of the product with a soft cloth soaked in neutral liquid detergent. Avoid rough materials, baking soda, harsh chemicals, and direct water spray on the filter while mounted. Always wear gloves and turn off power before cleaning.
