Maintenance Features
The manual provides guidelines for maintaining the TV:
- Cleaning: Unplug the power cord before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth for the product. For the screen, gently wipe away smudges and fingerprints with a micro-fiber cloth. For the body, use a soft cloth dampened with a small amount of water. Do not use flammable liquids (benzene, thinners, alcohol, insecticides, aerial fresheners, lubricants, or detergents). For stubborn smudges, a small amount of screen cleaner can be sprayed on the cloth.
- Battery Replacement: For the remote control, replace batteries with the same or equivalent type, matching polarity.
- Power Consumption: To decrease power consumption, unplug the power cord when the TV is not in use for extended periods.
- Ventilation: Maintain a distance of at least 10 cm between the TV and other objects (walls, cabinet sides) to ensure proper ventilation and prevent overheating.
- Still Image Warning: To prevent image burn-in or affecting image quality, avoid displaying still images (e.g., JPEG files, channel logos, news crawls, panorama/4:3 formats) for long periods. Recommendations include displaying full-screen images, reducing brightness and contrast, and using TV features designed to reduce image retention.
- Safety Precautions:
- Do not open the TV cabinet; refer servicing to qualified personnel.
- Avoid placing the TV in confined spaces, near heat sources, or in direct sunlight.
- Do not place vessels with water on the TV.
- Protect from rain or water exposure.
- Dispose of batteries properly according to local regulations.
- Do not overload wall outlets or extension cords.
- Ensure power cords are not walked on or pinched.
- Unplug from wall outlet and disconnect antenna/cable during lightning storms or long periods of disuse.
- Never insert metallic objects into openings.
- Plug power cord firmly; pull plug, not cord, when unplugging.
- If the TV operates abnormally (unusual sounds/smells), unplug immediately and contact service.
- Pull power plug if TV is unused or left unattended for extended periods.
- Ensure proper grounding for the plug and wall outlet.
- Store accessories out of reach of children.
- Do not drop or strike the product.
- Do not expose to dripping or splashing.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire, short-circuit, disassemble, or overheat.
- Wall Mounting: Follow manufacturer instructions precisely. Samsung is not liable for damage from self-installation or use of non-VESA/non-specified mounts. Use screws of standard dimension and VESA specifications. Do not fasten screws too firmly. Do not mount the TV at more than a 15-degree tilt. Always have two people for wall mounting.
- Preventing TV from Falling: Secure the TV to the wall using brackets and a durable, heavy-duty string to prevent tipping, especially important for children. Ensure the TV is placed on stable furniture and anchored if tall.
