Do you have a question about the Samsung UE65BU8000K and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document serves as an e-manual for a Samsung TV, providing comprehensive information on its features, usage, troubleshooting, and accessibility.

Connections

The TV supports various connection methods for external devices and networks. You can connect an antenna cable for live broadcasts and access the internet via a LAN cable or wireless access point. The Connection Guide provides detailed, pictorial instructions for connecting different external devices.

Supported Audio Devices: HDMI (eARC), Optical, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Speaker Surround Setup. Supported Video Devices: HDMI. Supported Smartphones: Screen Sharing (Smart View, Tap View), Samsung DeX, SmartThings, Camera Sharing, Apple AirPlay. Supported PCs: HDMI, Screen Sharing (Wireless), Easy Connection to Screen, Apple AirPlay, NFC on TV. Supported Input Devices: Remote Control, USB Keyboard, USB Mouse, USB Gamepad, USB Camera, Bluetooth Device. Supported Game Consoles: HDMI.

HDMI Troubleshooting is available to check HDMI cable and external device connections. Some functions and connection methods may vary by model or geographical area.

Antenna Connection: An antenna cable can be connected to the TV. A cable box or satellite box negates the need for an antenna. For optimal reception, connecting both connectors using a Multi-Switch or DiSEqC Switch and setting the Aerial Connection Type to Dual is recommended. DVB-T2 system support may vary.

Network Connection: The TV can connect to a wired or wireless network. For wired connections, a CAT 7 (*STP type) cable (100/10 Mbps) is recommended. The TV may not connect if the network speed is below 10 Mbps. For wireless connections, the SSID and password of the wireless access point are required. WPS or PBC buttons can be used for automatic connection. You can view, disconnect, or delete previously connected networks. The network settings can be reset to factory defaults.

Power On with Mobile: The TV can be turned on using a mobile device connected to the same network via the SmartThings app or Apple AirPlay (availability may vary).

IP Remote: An IP control device can be connected remotely to manage the TV. Power On with Mobile must be enabled for this function.

Wi-Fi Direct: Allows direct connection with other devices for content sharing without a wireless router. Turning off Wi-Fi Direct is recommended for maximum network performance with a 6 GHz access point.

Device Name: The TV's name on the network can be changed.

Displaying Mobile Device Screen on TV

You can mirror your mobile device screen to the TV using Smart View, Apple AirPlay, or Tap View. When screen sharing starts, the TV switches to Multi View or the mobile device's screen.

Screen Sharing (Smart View): Disconnect the mobile device or press the remote control button to turn off. Settings like aspect ratio can be changed via the Smart View menu on the mobile device.

Apple AirPlay: Requires Apple AirPlay Settings to be enabled on the TV.

Screen Sharing (Tap View): Tap your mobile device on the TV to display its screen or the Music Wall screen (if a music app is running). Tap View must be enabled in the SmartThings app. Tapping should be done gently on external edges to avoid damage.

Connection Cables for External Devices

Various HDMI cable types are supported for digital video and audio signals: High Speed HDMI, High Speed HDMI with Ethernet, Premium High Speed HDMI, Premium High Speed HDMI with Ethernet, and Ultra High Speed HDMI. DVI to HDMI cables transmit video only. Optical cables transmit audio signals with low loss. Component cables transmit analog HD video (1080i) and audio. Composite cables transmit analog video and audio.

HDMI Connection Notes: Use HDMI cables 17 mm or less in thickness. Non-certified cables may cause errors. Some HDMI cables and devices may not be compatible. HDMI Ethernet Channel is not supported. Use cables shorter than 3m for best UHD quality. Power sync mode is automatically activated when connecting external devices via HDMI.

Audio Device Connection Notes: For better audio, connect a sound bar or A/V receiver. Optical cable connection automatically changes Sound Output settings. Unusual noise may indicate a problem with the audio device. Digital audio is available with 5.1 channel broadcasts.

Computer Connection Notes: Refer to "Read Before Connecting a Computer (Supported Resolutions)" for supported resolutions. For wireless PC connection, both devices must be on the same network. Sharing content with network-based devices may be affected by network configuration.

Portrait Mode Connection Notes: Requires Auto Rotating Accessory (sold separately). For PC or console, the device setting must be changed to Portrait Mode.
