Backing up the TV's data with UHD Evolution Kit Backup
MENU/123 MENU System UHD Evolution Kit Backup
You can upgrade your Samsung TV with the 2016 or later Evolution Kit to unlock new features and
services offered by Samsung Electronics. To upgrade, you must first back up and convert the current
data and apps stored in your TV to make them compatible with the Evolution Kit.
To back up the TV data,
1.
Select Start. The data in the TV is backed up.

Do not turn off the TV or unplug the power cable of the TV during this backup.
2.
When the backup is complete, select Done.
Updating recorded programs

This is not available in the U.S.A. and Canada.
You can watch a previously recorded program saved on a USB device on a Samsung TV that has been
upgraded with the 2016 or later Evolution Kit.
To convert the previously recorded program,
1.
Connect the USB device containing the previously recorded program to the USB HDD 5V 1A
terminal.
2.
In the System menu, select Update Recorded Programs. The Update Recorded Programs screen
appears.
3.
Select Start. The conversion process begins.

4.
When the conversion is complete, select Done.
