2.3 Usingthebrushcutter
• Only use the machine in clear daylight or with the help of good artificial
lighting.
• The use of powered tools may be subject to regulations. Always respect
anylegalregulations,whichmayvaryfromonelocationtoanother.
• Donotusethemachinewhenthevegetationiswet
orwhenitisraining
• Do not use the brush cutter if you feel tired, unwell, have consumed
alcoholorhavetakenmedication.Amomentarylapseofattentioncanlead
toseriousinjury.
• Wear close fitting, comfortable clothes which will protect you from flying
debris. Wear long trousers
and sturdy, anti‐slip shoes/boots, as well as
personal protection equipment including robust gloves, goggles, a helmet
withvisorandearprotection.
• The user is responsible for the safety of all others in the machine’s
operating area. Keep other people, children and animals well away from
theworkarea.If
youareworkingaspartofagroup,keepa gooddistance
fromotherworkersandbeawarethatdebriscanbethrownlongdistances
bythemachine.
• Alwayskeepbothhandsonthehandleswhenusingthebrushcutter.
• Keephandsandfeetwellawayfromthe
cuttingareaandallmovingparts.
• When cutting, try to avoid solid obstaclessuch as fences,walls,postsand
trees
which cannot be cut by the machine and which might damage the
cuttingsystem.
• Ifthemachinebecomessnaggedorjammed,stoptheengineimmediately.
• Alwaysworkin
astable,balancedandsecureposition.Neverworkonvery
steep slopes and be especially careful when changing the direction of cut
onslopes.
• Be careful not to overload the machine. Always use the appropriate
machinefortheworktobecarriedout.
• Guide the machine across the
work at walking pace, moving forward
steadily.Neverrunanddonotwalkbackwardswhenusingthemachineto
avoidfallingover.
• Whenusingthemachine,keepthecuttingheadfacingdownwardsparallel
tothegroundandcoveredbythedeflectorguard.
• Neverleavethemachineunattendedwiththe
enginerunning.
• Neverstarttheengineinanenclosedareaoranyotherareawhereharmful
carbonmonoxidegasesmayaccumulate.
