Correct Use of the M30
The M30 offers numerous advantages compared to other
plant-lighting systems. In order to fully realise the potential of the
M30 system the following important aspects must be considered.
Correct Distance between M30 Module and Plants
In general, the required photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD)
depends strongly on the species of plants and their current de-
velopmental stage. One way to influence this value is to change
the distance between the LED-module and the plants. As a refe-
rence we recommend a distance of 20-40cm for plants requiring
normal lighting conditions.
For young plants and plants with low light requirements, this dis-
tance should be increased (35-60cm).
Please keep in mind that too much light intensity can harm the
plants. It is recommended to start with a larger distance when
using the M30 for the first time. The plants require time to get
used to the new light source. During this period of acclimatisation
the distance can be slowly reduced each day until the desired
PPFD value is reached. If the plants show any signs of over-ex-
posure (e.g., discolouring of the leaves) increase the distance
between the plants and the M30.
Required Number of M30 Modules
Besides the distance between the plant and LED module, the total
number of modules used strongly influences the amount of light
supplied to the cultivation area. Additionally, the plant species,
the plant developmental stage, the number of plants, the size of
the plants and the dimensions of the cultivation area must also
be considered. The following tables provide a reference to assist
with calculating the required number of M30 modules.

ces without daylight
