Your decision to purchase the M30 LED system will reward you
with a high-grade product bringing joy to you and your plants.
Please read this instruction manual carefully before you use the
M30 module. Misuse can cause damage to the luminaire and
your plants. Warranty claims and product liability are void if all
instructions outlined in this manual are not strictly followed.
CAUTION – Photo-biological note on safety
The M30 LED module is designed to illuminate plants to promote
powerful and healthy growth. It is not suitable as a luminaire
for general lighting purposes. Never look directly into the light
source. Continuous direct exposure from the light source can
cause irreversible eye damage. According to DIN EN 62471,
the M30 LED module is rated at risk class 2. Avoid unnecessary
long exposure to the emitted light as well as directly looking into
the light source.
Package Contents
Figure 1 displays the components of the M30 module. Please
check the contents of the packaging for completeness and dama-
ge. Do not use any damaged components.
Mounting of the M30 LED module
Using the included mounting brackets (2), the LED module (1) can
be orientated to shine in different directions. When installing the
module make sure to keep a safety clearance of 15cm to surroun-
ding objects. Make sure the mounting brackets (2) seat solidly in
the designated openings of the module. The fixture must be well
secured to ensure that it does not fall off.
Installation and Removal of Mounting Brackets (2)
The included mounting brackets (2) can be inserted into different
openings positioned on the LED module. This feature allows the
flexible orientation of the M30 to suit different lighting require-
ments (see figures 2 and 3). Carefully spread the brackets (2) to
clip them into the openings (see figure 4).
Electrical Connection of the M30
Connect the LED module (1) with the DC-Power Cord (3) to the
power converter.
Connection Sequence
It is imperative to connect the power cabling in the following se-
quence: first connect the DC-cable (3) then the AC-cable (5) as
shown in figures 5 and 6. When disconnecting the M30 from the
mains power supply proceed in the reverse order (first unplug
the AC-cable then the DC-cable). Disregarding this order can
cause damage to the M30 and will void all warranty and product
liability claims.
Cable Installation
When installing the cables, ensure a strain-relieved fixation. Ca-
bling should not be exposed to a tensile load. All cables must
be completely unwound. Operation with coiled cabling is pro-
hibited.
Power Converter (4)
When installing more than one M30 module make sure to keep a
minimum distance of 10mm between each power converter (4).
Do not stack the power converters on top of each other.
CAUTION: The power converter (4) is not waterproof. Avoid any
contact with liquids and do not operate the power converter in
environments with relative air humidity above 80%. Adhere to
the manufacturer’s operation manual which can be found via the
following link: http://sanlight.info/DE/Downloads.html
Handling of the M30 and General Warning Notices
In order to guarantee maximum efficiency, an optical cover has
not been used to cover the LEDs. The Module (NOT the individual
LEDs) can be cleaned with a soft, clean, dry and dust-free cloth.
Make sure to unplug all cables before cleaning. Do not use any
additional cleaning agents. Touching the LEDs, e.g., with fingers
or with a cleaning cloth can cause damage and possibly reduce
the light output. In the worst case this can even lead to the break-
down of the module. Prevent direct contact between plant parts
and the LED module. The maximum ambient temperature for safe
operation of the M30 is 40°C. Avoid any kind of mechanical
stress on the LED module and all components.
CAUTION: Carefully secure all components to prevent tipping over
or falling down.
CAUTION: Depending on the ambient temperature the LED modu-
le can reach a maximum temperature of 80°C. Allow adequate
air ventilation and always observe the minimum safety clearance
to surrounding objects of 15cm. Operating the M30 in enclosed
spaces is strictly prohibited.
CAUTION: The LED module (1), power converter (4) and all
plug-in connections are not water-protected. Avoid contact with
liquids. The maximum relative air humidity for the safe operation
of all components is 80%.
CAUTION: Only use the supplied power converter (4). Other po-
wer converters may cause damage.
CAUTION: If any damage to the module or other system compo-
nents is detected, cease operation immediately and unplug the
main AC-plug (5).
