Operation
of
amplifier
or
receiver
connected
Set
the
input
selector
or
tape
monitor
switch
to
‘“‘ON”’
corresponding
to
the
tape
terminals
to
which
connection
has
been
made
on
the
SE-300
and
corresponding
to
the
amplifier
or
receiver
used.
Playing
a
program
source
with
added
equalizer
effects
This
unit
can
be
used
to
achieve
subtle
frequency
compensation
which
is
not
possible
using
the
tone
controls
or
filters
of
amplifier.
You
can
not
only
compensate
for
fluctuations
in
the
frequency
response
produced
by
the
shape
of
the
listening
room
and
cut
out
the
undesira-
ble
frequencies
but
also
color
the
sound
of
the
program
source
as
desired.
In
other
words,
this
unit
gives
you
complete
contro!
over
the
sound.
1.
Switch
on
the
unit’s
power.
2.
Set
the
EQUALIZER
switch
to
the
ON
position.
3.
When
listening
to
a
disk
or
a
radio
broadcast:
Select
the
program
source
with
the
amplifiers
function
selector,
and
operate
the
turntable
or
tuner.
Set
the
INPUT
switch
to
the
SOURCE
Position
When
listening
to
a
tape:
Operation
differs
according
to
how
the
cassette
deck
is
connected.
Set
the
INPUT
switch
to
the
TAPE
position
when
playing
back
a
tape
in
a
‘cassette
deck
connected
to
the
unit's
TAPE
PLAY
terminals.
When
playing
back
a
tape
in
a
cassette
deck
connected
to
the
TAPE
PLAY
terminals
of
the
amplifier
or
receiver,
set
to
’‘ON”
the
tape
monitor
or
input
selector
switch
of
the
amplifier
or
receiver
accord-
ing
to
the
terminats
used.
*
When
no
component
has
been
connected
to
the
unit’s
TAPE
PLAY
terminals,
no
sound
will
be
heard
when
the
unit’s
TAPE
switch
of
the
INPUT
switch
is
pressed.
4.
Adjust
the
volume
of
sound
with
the
amplifier’s
volume
control.
5.
Play
the
music
and
adjust
the
equalizer
controls
to
achieve
equaliz-
ing.
When
they
are
slid
above
the
center
‘’O
dB"
position,
the
level
near
the
indicated
frequency
is
increased;
when
they
are
slid
below
the
position,
the
level
is
reduced.
6.
The
equalizing
effect
can
be
checked
momentarily
by
setting
the
EQUALIZER
switch
to
the
OFF
and
ON
positions.
*
When
the
EQUALIZER
switch
is
at
the
OFF
position,
the
sound
qual-
ity
cannot
be
compensated
for
even
when
the
equalizer
controls
are
operated.
Recording
a
program
source
with
added
equalizer
effects
With
this
function,
you
can
perform
equalization
of
record
or
radio
broad-
cast
sounds,
and
record
the
results
on
the
tape
deck
connected
to
the
unit.
In
accordance
with
your
own
preference
and
purpose,
you
can
make
the
sounds
you
like,
thus
producing
tapes
for
headphone
stereos,
car
audios,
etc.
1.
Set
the
EQUALIZER
switch
to
the
ON
positions.
2.
Set
the
INPUT
switch
to
the
SOURCE
Position
3.
Use
the
amplifier’s
function
selector
to
select
the
program
source
you
wish
to
record,
and
operate
the
tuner
or
turntabie
as
appropriate.
4.
Operate
the
equalizer
controls
tu
compensate
the
program
source
sounds
as
desired.
5.
Set
the
cassette
deck
in
the
recording
mode
to
begin
the
recording.
Dubbing
a
tape
with
added
equalizer
effects
By
using
a
double-cassette
deck
or
2
cassette
decks,
equalizing
can
be
done
on
an
already
recorded
tape
and
dubbed
onto
another
tape
(tape
copying).
When
a
double-cassette
deck
is
used.
:
1.
Set
the
INPUT
switch
to
the
SOURCE
position
and
set
the
EQUALIZER
switch
to
ON
(().
2.
Play
the
tape
back
on
deck
‘‘a’’,
and
add
the
desired
equalizing
onto
the
playback
sound.
3.
Press
the
REC
switch
on
deck
‘’b”’
and
start
recording.

When
dubbing
with
equalizing,
do
not
press
the
Dubbing
switch.
When
2
cassette
decks
are
used.
1.
Set:
the.
INPUT
switch
to
the
SOURCE
position
and
set
the
EQUALIZER
switch
to
ON
(f).
2.
Play
the
tape
back
on
a
deck
connected
to
an
amplifier
and
add
the
desired
equalizing.
3.
Perform
recording
by
operating
the
deck
connected
to
the
unit.
