The Sateon Advance Single-Blade Controller (Part No: SAT-ADV-C-SNG) is a sophisticated access control system controller designed for use with Sateon host software. It facilitates the connection of either one 2-Door Blade (SAT-ADV-BL-2D) for up to two doors and two readers, or one I/O Blade (SAT-ADV-BL-IO16) supporting up to eight supervised inputs and eight volt-free relay outputs. The controller features an integral case with a built-in optical tamper and supports both IP and RS485 host communications.
The controller acts as the central hub for managing access control operations for a single blade. It processes data from connected readers, controls door locks, and manages inputs/outputs through the attached blade. Its power management system allows for various input sources and provides output power to the connected blade and its peripherals. The device is designed for robust operation, with features like a reset button for system reboots and a load/clear button for configuration data management.
Overview:
Input Power Options:
Output Power (Controller Draw):
Power Supply vs. Remaining for Devices:
| Power Supply | Supplied | Used by controller* | Remaining for devices |
|---|---|---|---|
| POE (IEEE 802.3.af) | 11W | 6.0W (0.5A) | 5W (417mA) |
| PoE+ (IEEE 802.3.at) | 21W | 6.0W (0.5A) | 15W (1250mA) |
| 12V external (2.5A plug) | 30.0W | 6.0W (0.5A) | 24.0W (2000mA) |
| 12V external (PSU3A-12(B)) | 36.0W | 4.0W** (0.33A**) | 32.0W (2666mA) |
| 12V external (5A) | 60.0W | 6.0W (0.5A) | 54.0W (4500mA) |
Electromagnetic Compatibility:
Flexible Power Options: The controller can be powered via a 12V external supply (up to 5A), Power over Ethernet (PoE), or PoE+. This flexibility allows installers to choose the most suitable power source based on system requirements and convenience. An optional 4.2V Lithium Polymer Battery provides backup during power outages.
Host Communications: Supports both Ethernet 10/100 BASE-T for IP host communications and RS485 2-wire 19.2k baud for connecting multiple controllers in a daisy-chain configuration. For RS485, one controller must be configured as a Relay Controller (using both IP and RS485), while others can be 485-only. All Advance controllers require an Ethernet connection during commissioning.
Blade Connection: One 2-Door Blade or one I/O Blade can be installed, expanding the controller's functionality for doors, readers, inputs, and outputs.
USB Ports: Two USB 2.0 Type A ports are provided for future use with Grosvenor-approved USB products and for updating controller firmware.
Status LED: A multi-color Status LED (not visible when the case is closed) provides visual feedback on the controller's operational state, including off-line, connected, on-line, initialising, data download status, and error conditions.
External Lock Power: For systems with 24V door locks or locks requiring more power than the controller can provide, the door blade can utilize an External Lock Power Supply.
Reset Button: A recessed reset button triggers a complete system reboot in case of an unresponsive system. It is designed to prevent accidental activation and requires a suitable tool or pen to depress. Use only when requested by Grosvenor Technical Support.
Load/Clear Button (Config): This button serves three purposes:
Optical Tamper: The built-in optical tamper requires no connection and is operational when the case is closed, providing security against unauthorized access to the controller's internal components.
Battery Safety and Service Life:
Firmware Updates: The USB ports can be used to update controller firmware, ensuring the system remains current with the latest features and security enhancements.
Commissioning: All Advance controllers require an Ethernet connection during the commissioning process for discovery and configuration using Sateon Quick Start. Once configured, the Ethernet connection can be disconnected from 485 controllers.
