What to do if my Scag Power Equipment Lawn Mower is streaking and leaving strips of uncut grass?
    • D
      Derrick WilsonAug 26, 2025
Streaking, or strips of uncut grass, can happen for several reasons. The blades may be dull, worn, or incorrectly sharpened, so sharpen or replace the blades. The engine RPM may be too low, so run the engine at full RPM. The belt could be slipping, so adjust the belt tension. There might be grass accumulation under the deck, so clean the underside of the deck. The ground speed may be too fast, so slow down. Wet grass or bent blades can also cause this issue.

What to do if my Scag Power Equipment STT has an uneven cut on flat ground with a wavy or scalloped appearance?
    • G
      Gerald HartAug 28, 2025
An uneven cut on flat ground with a wavy or scalloped appearance can be due to lift worn from the blade (replace blade), the blade being upside down (mount with cutting edge toward ground), grass accumulation under the deck (clean underside of deck and adjust pitch and level), or a dull blade (sharpen blade).

Why is my Scag Power Equipment Lawn Mower leaving stringers or occasional blades of uncut grass?
    • P
      pramirezSep 9, 2025
Stringers, or occasional blades of uncut grass, can occur if the engine RPM is too low or the ground speed is too fast. Ensure the engine is running at full RPM and reduce speed to suit the conditions. Other potential causes include wet grass (cut after it has dried), dull blades (sharpen blades), or grass accumulation under the deck (clean the underside of the deck and adjust belt tension).
