■ Backplane IP of the first node in the
cluster
■ This field is a special case and
should use the same IP as
“Backplane IP of this node” on
the first node of the system. All
subsequent system nodes after
the first node should reference
the first node’s Backplane IP.
■ The node will verify the entered IP information is
correct and that it can ping all LAN, Backplane, and
gateway IPs. The node configuration is complete
when it either returns to the command prompt or
when the output says “Entering forwarding state.” This
process generally takes 3-5 minutes per node.
■ If the verification fails, double check the
following:
■ The IPs were typed correctly.
■ The chosen LAN and Backplane IP are
being used elsewhere in the network.
■ The LAN and Backplane IP are on
separate networks. The Backplane IP
cannot be a publicly routable IP and
cannot be in the assigned LAN IP
network.
