About the user manual
The manual contains information about VCI4 for safe operation and is primarily aimed at users of
VCI4.
A prerequisite for communication between a computer and VCI4 is that there is already a functioning
wireless network in the IT environment. Settings for the IT environment are not described here, apart
from a few specific details. How the network should be set up is described in the following
documents:
• SWS:03 Workshop Communicator Unit (WCU) – network configuration and installation wizard
• SWS:05 WCU installation in the workshop
The documents can be downloaded from TIL (Technical Information Library). The documents are
primarily intended for network and workshop administrators.
Read this first
Read the entire user manual before you start using VCI4 to ensure that you use the unit safely
and correctly. Always comply with the recommendations and instructions given. The user
manual contains information that will prevent risks that could cause personal injury or
equipment damage.
