Overview

This document describes the SL-1511 Juicer Extractor, a device designed for extracting juice from various fruits and vegetables.

Function Description

The SL-1511 Juicer Extractor is an electrical appliance used to separate juice from the pulp of fruits and vegetables. It operates by shredding the produce and then centrifugally separating the liquid from the solid matter. The device is equipped with a pusher to guide produce into the feeding tube, a transparent lid to observe the process, and a pulp container to collect the discarded solids. The extracted juice flows into a separate juice container. A speed switch allows for adjustment of the motor speed, which is crucial for processing different types of produce effectively. The motor unit houses the main electrical and mechanical components. A safety lock mechanism ensures the device operates only when properly assembled, enhancing user safety.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Voltage: 220-240 V ~ 50 Hz
  • Power: 850 W
  • Weight: 4.3 / 4.7 kg
  • Dimensions: Approximately 420 mm (height) x 235 mm (width) x 330 mm (depth)

The device features a powerful 850W motor, capable of efficiently processing a wide range of fruits and vegetables. Its robust construction and design are intended for household use, providing a reliable solution for daily juice extraction. The two-speed setting allows for optimal performance depending on the hardness of the produce.

Usage Features

Before First Use: Before using the juicer for the first time, it is essential to unpack all parts and check for any damage. All parts that will come into contact with food should be thoroughly washed and dried. Assemble the device by first placing the motor unit on a flat, stable surface. Then, mount the pulp container, followed by the grating filter and juice container. Secure the transparent lid and finally, insert the pusher into the feeding tube. Ensure all parts are correctly assembled and locked into place before plugging the appliance into a power outlet. This appliance is equipped with a safety system; if the cover is not properly installed, the appliance will not function.

Operation:

  1. Preparation: Always ensure the juicer is switched off and unplugged before preparing produce. Wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly. Remove pits and peel from citrus fruits and other thick-skinned produce. Cut larger fruits and vegetables into pieces small enough to fit into the feeding tube. For example, apples, pears, carrots, cucumbers, and tomatoes should be cut into pieces no larger than 7 cm in diameter. Small produce like grapes, berries, and cherries can be inserted whole.
  2. Juicing: Plug the power cord into a wall socket. Switch on the appliance and choose the desired speed.
    • Speed 1: For soft produce (e.g., grapes, strawberries, oranges, plums, grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, mangoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, cherries, currants, gooseberries).
    • Speed 2: For hard produce (e.g., apples, carrots, fennel, beets, celery, spinach, cabbage, bell peppers, parsley, onions, ginger, pineapple, mangoes, bananas, coconuts).
  3. Feeding: Press the "PULSE" button or the "ON" button to start the appliance. Gradually feed the prepared fruits and vegetables into the feeding tube using the pusher. Apply gentle, even pressure with the pusher; never use excessive force.
  4. Continuous Operation: The motor must not run continuously for more than 2 minutes. After 2 minutes of continuous operation, switch off the appliance and let it rest for at least 2 minutes to cool down the motor. This prevents overheating and extends the life of the appliance.
  5. Pulp Container: Regularly check the pulp container. If it becomes full, switch off the appliance, unplug it, and empty the pulp container before resuming operation.

Important Notes:

  • Do not process very hard produce like coconuts, bananas, peaches, apricots, avocados, papayas, etc., as they may damage the appliance or yield minimal juice.
  • Always use the pusher to guide produce; never use fingers or other utensils.
  • If the appliance jams, switch it off immediately, unplug it, and clear the obstruction.
  • Do not overload the motor. If the motor slows down significantly, reduce the amount of produce being fed.
  • Never immerse the motor unit in water.
  • The vegetable pulp can be reused for various culinary purposes, such as making sauces, soups, or baked goods.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning: Regular cleaning is crucial for maintaining the appliance's performance and hygiene.

  1. Disassembly: Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance, unplug it from the power outlet, and allow it to cool down. Disassemble all removable parts: pusher, lid, juice container, grating filter, pulp container, and juice collector.
  2. Washing: Wash all removable parts in warm soapy water. Use a soft brush to clean the grating filter thoroughly, ensuring all filter openings are clear. Rinse all parts under running water.
  3. Motor Unit: Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth. Never immerse the motor unit in water or rinse it under running water.
  4. Drying: Dry all parts thoroughly before reassembling or storing the appliance.
  5. Stains: If plastic parts become stained by colored fruits or vegetables, they can be wiped with a cloth dampened with vegetable oil to help remove the stains.
  6. Storage: Store the assembled and dried juicer in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Do Not Use:

  • Abrasive cleaning agents, scouring pads, or metal brushes, as they can scratch or damage the surfaces.
  • Dishwasher for the motor unit. While some removable parts might be dishwasher safe, it is generally recommended to hand wash them to prolong their lifespan.

Troubleshooting:

  • Appliance does not turn on: Check if the power cord is properly plugged in and if all parts are correctly assembled and locked. The safety lock mechanism prevents operation if not assembled correctly.
  • Motor stops during operation: The appliance might be overloaded. Switch it off, unplug, remove some produce, and restart.
  • Excessive vibration or noise: Ensure the appliance is placed on a stable, flat surface. Check if the grating filter is correctly inserted and balanced.
  • Poor juice yield or excessive pulp in juice: Ensure the produce is fresh and cut into appropriate sizes. Adjust the speed setting according to the type of produce. Clean the grating filter thoroughly, as clogged pores can reduce efficiency.

By following these guidelines, users can ensure the longevity and optimal performance of their SL-1511 Juicer Extractor.
