9 Initial use
9.1 Checks prior to initial use
 Ensure that the battery of the basis vehicle is connected correctly (only as
part of initial use).
9.2 Starting up the system
 Engine of the basis vehicle when stationary:
F Switch on the vehicle lighting and check whether all position lights are
also switched on.
F If available: Turn on the switch for the fog lights and check whether the
fog light(s) is/are switched on.
F Check that all consumers connected to the steady plus are ready.
F Ensure that no consumer that may only be operational when the en-
gine is turned on can be switched on.
 Start the engine of the basis vehicle:
F Check whether all consumers that may only be operational when the
engine is turned on are now operational.
9.3 Settings (only AD 03)
 Adjust the slide switch as specified in Fig. 7.
