What to do if Sea-doo GTI engine turns normally but won't start?
- LLauren ThomasAug 19, 2025
If your Sea-Doo Boat engine turns normally but doesn't start, first ensure the fuel tank valve is in the ON position (for carburetor-equipped models). Then, check the fuel tank to ensure it's not empty or contaminated with water; refill or replace the fuel as needed. Also, inspect the fuel filter for clogs or water contamination (carburetor-equipped models) and clean it, checking the fuel tank for water. Replace any fouled or defective spark plugs and avoid misusing the choke (carburetor-equipped models). If the engine is fuel-flooded or if there's a faulty component in the fuel injection system (RFI models) or an electrical problem (RFI models), or a burnt fuel pump fuse (RFI models), you should refer to an authorized Sea-Doo dealer.
