1.2 Display

The display shownbelow isthe user interface to the Model8000 Gyroand shouldbe mounted at the
primaryhelmstation.Itisusedtostart,operate,monitorandshutdowntheGyro.Sensors,alarmsand
shutdownsareprovidedtoallowunattendedoperation.Howeverthegyroisahigh‐speed
machineand
special attention should be paid to vibration and noise as this could be  the first hint of a mechanical
problem.
Thedisplayprovidesinformationin theeventofanalarm. Alarmscauseprecessiontostop(LOCK)and
thegyrotostartcoastingdown(STOP).

