6. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Alarm buzzer sounds. Check for cross connection and rectify.
RoadStart has been charging for 20 hours or more and there is no
change in the charge level.
Check charger to verify if it is charging. The charger should be warm
if operating correctly. Check all connections.
Charge meter reads low, but when the AC adaptor is plugged in the
needleickstotheright.
The internal battery of the RoadStart needs to be replaced.
RoadStart is fully charged but has no output. Check the connection between the cables and clamps. Ensure that
they are tight and free from corrosion. Clean and re-crimp if
necessary.
Reverse charging device inoperative. Return to stockist.
Battery Removal
NOTE: The RoadStart battery is a sealed, lead-acid type. By law, it must be removed and recycled, or disposed of properly,
according to national and/or local regulations. Place the RoadStart unit front side down. Remove the screws from the rear panel and lift
off from the unit enclosure. Disconnect the wires from the two battery terminals, taking care to avoid accidental arcing of the terminals.
Lift the batteries out of the casing.
Disposal
Take the battery to a recycling centre that handles sealed, lead-acid batteries. If there is no recycling centre in the area, contact the local
environmental agency for disposal instructions.
Environmental Protection
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted,
taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment.
When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain off any fluids (if applicable)
into approved containers and dispose of the product and the fluids according to local regulations.
WEEE Regulations
Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed
of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.
