replacement is required.
a. With Engine
cool, remo ve and plug Fu el Line S ec tions as
removed from both ends of Fuel F il t er (F ig. 28).
b. Place n
ew Fuel Fi l ter in position in Fu el Line (arrow
on side of Filter in direction of fuel flow).
BE SURE THERE ARE NO FUEL LINE
LEAKS AND THAT FUEL LINE IS IN
PROPER POSITION IN HOSE CLAMPS.

1. CHANGE TRANSAXLE OIL
a. Bl ock up Rear Axle securely or use a Tractor Jack . Re-
move left Rear Wheel by removing Hub Bolts (Fig. 36) .
b. Drain Transaxle
Oil by removing Drain Plug (Fig. 27)
and ca t ching Oil in suitable container. R eplace Drain
Plug.

Ref ill Transaxle with S.A.E. 30 ( SC , SD or SE) Motor
Oil. Capaci ty is 5 quarts . Pressure Relief Valve (R.H. side
of Transaxle)(F ig. 27 - Inset) may be held open to allow
Transaxle to fill more quickly.
d. C heck Pressure Relief Valve. It should spring comple tely
closed when pulled out by hand and released.

Repo sition wheel. Secure with Hub Bolts.
AS NEEDED
1. TOE-IN ADJUSTMENT
If any parts in F r ent Axle or Steering Mechani sm are being
replaced, T ie Rod
adjustment is required.
a. Loosen
Jam Nuts (Fig. 29) at each end of Tie Rod Ad-
justment Sleeves.
b. Adjust bot h Tie Rods so that Tie Rod Joints measure
10 - 1 / 2" from cente r to ce nter.
c. On front of front tires measure distance from center to
ce nter (measurement No. 1).
d.
On rear of front tires measure distance from center to
ce nter (mea surement N o.2).
e. Compar e m ea surem ents - measurement No. 1 shou ld be
1/8
- 1/4 less th an measureme nt No. 2.
f. If not adjust each Tie Rod equally to get correct mea-
surement.
g. Tight en Jam Nuts making sure Tie Rod Joints are
parallel (1 80 °) to each other. This adjus tment secures
proper front wh eel Toe-In and Steer ing oper at ion.
