Overview

This document is an instruction manual for a SEIKI 6KG Front Load Washing Machine, model SC-600AU8FLG. It provides comprehensive information on general safety, product overview, getting started, operations, cleaning and maintenance, FAQs, and specifications.

Function Description

The SEIKI 6KG Front Load Washing Machine is designed for domestic use to wash clothes. It features various wash programs tailored for different fabric types and soil levels, including options for cotton, synthetics, delicates, wool, and specialized cycles like "Baby Care" and "Quick 15'". The machine operates with a front-loading drum and dispenses detergent and softener automatically during the wash cycle. It is equipped with an LED screen display to show program information and a control panel for selecting programs, adjusting settings, and initiating/pausing washes. The machine's primary function is to efficiently clean laundry while offering flexibility in wash settings such as temperature and spin speed.

Usage Features

The washing machine offers a user-friendly experience with its intuitive control panel and a range of customizable options.

  • Programs: A program dial allows users to select from various wash programs: Baby Care, Sports, Synthetic, Mixed, Delicate, Wool, Drain Only, Spin Only, My Cycle, Cotton Intensive, Cotton 60°C, Cotton 40°C, Cotton 20°C, Quick 15', Eco Wash, and Rinse&Spin. Each program is designed for specific laundry needs, with default temperature and spin speed settings that can often be adjusted.
  • LED Screen Display: Provides clear visual feedback on the selected program, remaining time, and other settings.
  • On/Off Button: Powers the machine on or off.
  • Delay Button: Allows users to set a delayed start for the wash cycle, offering convenience for scheduling laundry.
  • Speed Button: Adjusts the spin speed for different programs, enabling users to optimize for drying time or fabric care.
  • Temperature Button: Modifies the wash temperature, providing flexibility for various fabric types and cleaning requirements.
  • Start/Pause Button: Initiates or temporarily stops a wash cycle.
  • Detergent Dispenser: The machine features a three-compartment detergent drawer for pre-wash detergent, main wash detergent, and softener. Users are instructed to use low-sudsing detergents specifically designed for front-load washing machines. A dam-board is provided for liquid detergent use, which should be removed for powder detergent.
  • Loading Laundry: Before loading, users are advised to check clothing labels for wash care symbols, empty all pockets, knot long strips, zip up items, button clothes, put small items in a pillow slip, and turn easy-pilling/long-pile fabrics inside out. Clothes should be separated by texture.
  • First Use: Before the first loaded wash, it is recommended to perform an empty wash cycle to clean the drum.
  • Water Temperature: The appliance should operate within a working temperature range of 0-40°C to prevent damage to the inlet valve and draining system.
  • Load Capacity: The maximum load for dry clothes is 6kg. Users are cautioned against washing a single item alone and are advised to add a few other clothing items if an urgent single item wash is necessary.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for extending the working life of the washing machine and ensuring optimal performance.

  • Safety First: Before any maintenance, the appliance must be unplugged from the power socket, and the water tap should be closed.
  • Cleaning the Cabinet: The exterior cabinet can be cleaned with diluted non-abrasive neutral detergents. Any water overflow should be wiped immediately with a wet cloth. Sharp items should not be used for cleaning.
  • Cleaning the Door Seal and Glass: After each wash, the door glass and seal should be wiped to remove lint and stains. This prevents lint buildup, which can cause leaks. Any coins, buttons, or other objects found in the seal should be removed.
  • Cleaning the Inlet Filter: The inlet filter, located at the tap connection and at the back of the appliance, needs periodic cleaning.
    • Tap Filter: Close the tap, remove the water supply hose from the tap, clean the filter, and then reconnect the hose.
    • Machine Filter: Screw off the inlet pipe from the back of the appliance, pull out the filter with long-nose pliers, clean it with a brush, and then reinstall and reconnect the inlet pipe, turning on the tap.
  • Cleaning the Detergent Dispenser:
    • Press down on the arrow location on the softener cover inside the dispenser.
    • Lift the clip up and remove the softener cover.
    • Wash all grooves with water.
    • Clean the inside of the recess with an old toothbrush.
    • Restore the softener cover and push the drawer back into position.
    • Note: Alcohol, solvents, or chemical products should not be used to clean the machine.
  • Cleaning the Drain Pump Filter: This filter collects yarns and small foreign matters.
    • Caution: Be careful of hot water; allow the detergent solution to cool down.
    • Open the service filter cover.
    • Turn the filter counter-clockwise to open it and remove any extraneous matter.
    • Close the lower cover cap, ensuring it is tightly secured.
    • Important: Ensure the valve cap and drain hose are properly reinstalled. Do not remove the pump cover during a wash cycle, and always wait until the appliance has finished the cycle and is empty.
  • Error Codes: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues and error codes (E30, E10, E21), offering solutions such as checking the door, water supply, or drain pump filter. For other issues, customers are advised to contact customer service.
