5. Operation
Turning the power on and off
• Press the ON/OFF button once to turn the device on.
• When the LCD display shows ”ALCO”, press and hold the ON/OFF button for about
2 seconds to turn the device off.
Starting breath alcohol test
• Insert the mouthpiece
• If the device is on, the display will show “ALCO”. Press the ON/OFF button once to
enable the sensor heating. The display will show “SH” and thecountdown will start
(“SH99” will count down to ”SH90-00”). As soon as the device is ready to take the
sample, the display will alter between “READY” and“BLOW“ flashing and asound
alert will sound; the unit will start the 30s countdown and during this time, please
perform the test.
• When you are ready to blow, blow continuously using the mouthpiece for about
5–7 seconds. The sensor will detect asample of your breath; stop blowing when you
hear “click” and “double beep!“. If the sample taking was successful, “Anly” will be
flashing (analysis in progress) and then the relevant measured valued will be shown.
If the blowing time was too short or if the air flow is too fine or intermittent, the LCD
display will show “FLO”.
• You can press the ON/OFF once for anew test.
• The test result will be shown on LCD for about 60 seconds.
