Do you have a question about the Sencor SCP 2253WH and is the answer not in the manual?
This document provides the user manual for the Sencor Electric Double Hotplate, available in models SCP 2253WH, SCP 2254BK, and SCP 2255SS. The appliance is designed for household use, featuring two hotplates for cooking.
The Sencor Electric Double Hotplate is a portable cooking appliance equipped with two hotplates: a large hotplate (A1) with a diameter of 18 cm and a small hotplate (A4) with a diameter of 15 cm. Each hotplate has its own indicator light (A2 for the large hotplate, A5 for the small hotplate) which signals its operation, and a dedicated temperature control knob (A3 for the large hotplate, A6 for the small hotplate) to adjust the heat level. The appliance is intended for cooking various foodstuffs using appropriate pots and pans. It operates by heating the hotplates, which then transfer heat to the cookware placed on them. The thermostat within the appliance regulates the temperature, switching the hotplate on and off to maintain the set heat level.
Before first use, all packaging materials, promotional tags, and labels should be removed. The appliance surface should be wiped with a clean, lightly dampened cloth and then dried.
To operate, the hotplate must be placed on a horizontal, dry, clean, stable, and heat-resistant surface, such as a kitchen countertop, within reach of a power socket. It is crucial to ensure that both temperature control knobs (A3 and A6) are set to the MIN position and that there are no foreign objects on the hotplates (A1 and A4) and that their surfaces are clean. The power cord must be fully unwound and connected to a properly grounded power socket, ensuring it does not touch the hotplate surface during operation, as the appliance heats up.
Once connected, a pot or pan should be placed on the appropriate hotplate. For optimal power consumption and cooking time, cookware with a flat base and a diameter corresponding to the hotplate size should be used. Foodstuffs can then be placed into the pot or pan.
The desired temperature level is selected using the respective temperature control knob. For quick boiling, the MAX level is recommended. For frying, level 5 is suggested, while medium levels 3 to 4 are suitable for maintaining a boil. For keeping food warm, low levels 1 to 2 are recommended. The temperature can be adjusted at any time during operation. The indicator lights (A2 and A5) will illuminate when the thermostat switches the hotplate on and off, indicating that the hotplate is heating.
It is important to regularly check the condition of the food while the hotplate is running and never leave the appliance unsupervised during operation. A small amount of smoke may be emitted when first turned on, which is normal and will disappear after a few minutes.
After cooking, the temperature control knob should be set to MIN, and the power cord disconnected from the power socket. Both temperature control knobs (A3 and A6) should always be set to MIN, and the power cord disconnected when the appliance is not in use, before cleaning, maintenance, moving, or storing it, or when leaving it unsupervised. The appliance must be allowed to cool down completely before moving, cleaning, maintenance, or storing. Never move the appliance with a pot or pan on it or while it is still hot.
Regular cleaning of the appliance after each use is essential to prevent food or other residues from accumulating. Before cleaning, always set the temperature control knobs (A3 and A6) to MIN, disconnect the power cord from the power socket, and allow the appliance to cool down completely.
To clean the hotplates (A1 and A4), use a soft, lightly dampened textile and then wipe them dry. For the surface around the hotplates (A1 and A4), a soft, lightly dampened textile can be used. In case of heavier soiling, a small amount of neutral kitchen detergent can be applied. Any remaining detergent should be removed with a clean, lightly dampened cloth, and the cleaned surface thoroughly wiped until dry.
Do not use steel wool, solvents, or abrasive cleaning products, as these can damage the surface coat of the appliance. To prevent the risk of electrical shock, the appliance, power cord, or power plug must never be submerged in water or any other liquid.
Discoloration of the appliance surface may occur over time with use, but this does not affect its functionality.
For storage, the cooled and thoroughly cleaned appliance should be placed in a clean, dry place, out of children's reach.
