Sentinel V2 Driver Tag Quick Start Guide
Thank you for purchasing the Sentinel Driver Tag feature. Sentinel Driver Tags will allow you to
automatically update the current driver name in your live feed as well as optionally override the
branding image overlay when a tagged driver enters the car. In addition if the driver tag has an
associated phone number, the driver will get a ‘stint report’ texted to him/her after they exit the car
reporting on their most recent statistics.
Step 1:
Install the WiFi/Bluetooth antennas.
o If your Sentinel Video Unit serial number is > 1020 you will have two SMA connectors on
the rear of the unit. Please screw both antennas to the unit and orient them in a
manner that does not physically interfere with any other nearby objects
o If your Sentinel Video Unit serial number is < 1020 you will only have a single SMA
connector on the rear of the unit. Attach one of the antennas to the unit and put the
other one aside (it will not be needed).
Step 2:
With your hardware powered up, please click stopthis should return the device state as
stoppedand the Firmware revision. If the page returns unknown firmware version, or anything
below 1.87C, you will need to update the firmware
o To update firmware, please ensure streaming is STOPPED, then click Show ADVANCED
Configuration to reveal the firmware update button.

Summary

Install WiFi Bluetooth Antennas

Antenna Setup for Serial Numbers > 1020

Screw both antennas to the unit and orient them to avoid interference with nearby objects.

Antenna Setup for Serial Numbers < 1020

Attach one antenna to the unit and set the other aside as it will not be needed.

Update Sentinel Firmware

Check and Initiate Firmware Update

Click 'stop' to check firmware revision. Update if revision is unknown or below 1.87C.

Complete Firmware Update Process

Ensure streaming is stopped, click ADVANCED Configuration, then update firmware.

Configure Sentinel Driver Tag

Access Sentinel Configuration Utility

Browse to config.sentinelvideo.net to access the utility and register a driver.

Register Driver Information

Fill out driver details, phone number, tag number, and optional branding file.

Attach and Activate Driver Tag

Apply 3M VHT Sticker to Tag

Remove film from one side of the sticker and affix to the back of the tag (FCC ID side).

Attach Tag to Helmet

Remove film from the other side of the sticker and affix to the helmet of the driver.

Activate Tag Battery

Pull the small plastic flap at the bottom of the tag to connect the battery.
