How to troubleshoot a Shark AZ1000 with no suction?
    • A
      Aaron HallJul 27, 2025
If your Shark Vacuum Cleaner isn't picking up debris and has no or light suction, there are several things you can check: * First, examine the filters. If they appear dirty, clean them following the instructions for rinsing and air-drying before placing them back in the vacuum. * Next, see if the dust cup is full and empty it if necessary. * Also, inspect the hose, hose connections, nozzle, wand, pod, and any accessories for blockages, and clear them. * If you notice hair, string, or carpet fibers wrapped around the brushroll, allow the vacuum to run for an extended period to let the Zero-M™ technology remove them. If some debris remains, remove the floor nozzle cover and carefully cut the debris with scissors before removing it from the brushroll.

If your Shark Vacuum Cleaner turns off by itself or the indicator light flashes red, follow these steps: 1. Turn off and unplug the vacuum. 2. Empty the dust cup and clean the filters. 3. Check for any blockages in the hose, accessories, and inlet openings. 4. Allow the unit to cool down for at least 45 minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on. If the issue persists, restart the unit using the power switch.

If the brushrolls on your Shark Vacuum Cleaner aren't spinning, here's what to do: * If the Brushroll Indicator Light turns red, immediately turn off and unplug the vacuum. Detach the pod from the floor nozzle and clear any blockages. Reconnect the nozzle, plug in the vacuum, and power it on. * With the power on, recline the handle to automatically activate the brushrolls. * Also, make sure the Surface Selector switch is set to Carpet (position II) to enable the brushrolls to spin.
