Overview

This document serves as the user manual for a Sharp Built-in Dishwasher, model QW-D211492X-EN, designed for home use.

Function Description

The Sharp Built-in Dishwasher is designed to efficiently clean dishes, offering various wash programs and features to ensure optimal cleaning and drying performance. It incorporates an "Active Drying Unit" system for better drying results. The dishwasher is equipped with baskets for upper and lower racks, a cutlery basket, and dedicated dispensers for detergent, rinse-aid, and salt to facilitate effective washing.

Important Technical Specifications

The dishwasher has a capacity of 12 place settings. Its dimensions are: Height 820 mm - 870 mm, Width 598 mm, and Depth 550 mm. The net weight of the appliance is 38 kg. For electrical input, it requires 220-240 V, 50 Hz. The total power consumption is 1900 W, with heating power at 1800 W, pump power at 100 W, and drain pump power at 25 W. The water supply pressure should be between 0.03 MPa (0.3 bar) and 1 MPa (10 bar). The current rating is 10 A. The product conforms to EU directives and standards, and an electronic copy of the user manual is available on www.sharphomeappliances.com.

Usage Features

Installation: The machine should be positioned in an accessible place for easy loading and unloading. It requires a water inlet hose connection (minimum 0.03 MPa, maximum 1 MPa) and a water outlet hose connection to a drain hole or sink outlet spigot, with a recommended length between 50 and 110 cm. The drain hose should not be longer than 4 meters. An Aquastop spout is used in some models for safety. Electrical connection requires an earthed outlet with suitable voltage and current (110/220 V and 3000 W inbetween). The indoor fuse current value should be 10-16 A. An extension cord or multiple socket is not recommended.

Preparation for Use: Before first use, the dishwasher requires filling with salt to soften water, which is crucial for preventing limescale. The salt dispenser should be filled with dishwasher salt and water until it overflows. The salt consumption can be adjusted based on water hardness, which is determined using a testing strip provided. The water hardness setting can be adjusted via the program selection button. Detergent and rinse-aid are also essential. Detergent, either powder, gel, or tablet, should be placed in the detergent compartment. Rinse-aid, which prevents water drops and improves drying performance, should be filled into its dispenser. The rinse-aid level can be adjusted.

Loading the Dishwasher: The dishwasher has two separate baskets for loading dishes. The upper basket is for round and deep items, while the lower basket is for large and narrow items. Sharp-pointed knives should be placed horizontally to avoid injuries. The top basket height is adjustable. A movable cutlery basket can be slid between the front and rear wires of the bottom basket. Incorrect loading, such as overcrowding or blocking spray arms, can impair washing performance.

Programme Selection: The dishwasher offers various programs for different types of soil and wash temperatures, including Intensive 70°C, Express 65°C, Eco 50°C, Quick 30 min. 40°C, and Prewash No Heat. Each program has specific detergent requirements, duration, electricity, and water consumption. To start a program, press the Power On/Off button, then select a program using the program selection button. A delay timer allows postponing the start time. The program indicator lights (P1-P5) show the selected program.

Switching Off: To switch off the machine, press the Power On/Off button. The program indicator will turn off. If a program is cancelled, the machine will discharge water for about 30 seconds.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning: Regular maintenance is crucial for the machine's longevity. This includes cleaning the machine regularly, especially the detergent compartment, and wiping the machine's surfaces. Filters: The filter system, located under the lower spray arm, should be cleaned at least once a week. It consists of a coarse filter, micro filter, and metal/plastic filter. To clean, turn the filter counter-clockwise, lift it out, rinse under running water, and remove any food waste. Spray Arms: The upper and lower spray arms should be checked and cleaned regularly to ensure the holes are not clogged. To remove the lower spray arm, pull it upwards. To remove the upper spray arm, unscrew the nut. Hose Filter: The filter at the end of the water inlet hose should be cleaned periodically to prevent blockages. Troubleshooting: The manual provides a table of error codes (P1-P5) and their descriptions (e.g., inadequate water supply, continuous water input, heater error, faulty electronic card, overheating, faulty heater sensor), along with corresponding controls to address them. Practical advice is also given for common issues like dishes not being clean, water spots, rust stains, or bad smells.

Disposal: The product and its packaging are made of recyclable materials. The symbol on the product or package indicates that it should not be treated as domestic waste but delivered to a collection point for recycling electrical and electronic equipment. This helps prevent damage to the environment and public health.
