Function Description:
The Sharp fridge-freezer is a household appliance designed for cooling and storing food. It utilizes new-generation cooling technology, which differs from static fridge-freezers. Instead of humid air turning into frost in the freezer compartment, a fan blows cold, dry air throughout the freezer, ensuring uniform freezing and preventing frost buildup. Similarly, in the refrigerator compartment, air emitted by a fan at the top is cooled and distributed through air duct holes, ensuring consistent cooling. This design also prevents odors from mixing between the freezer and refrigerator compartments. The appliance features a display and control panel for temperature settings, including "Super Cool" and "Economy" modes, and an open door alarm function.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Refrigerant: The fridge-freezer uses eco-friendly R600a (isobutene) refrigerant in a small quantity. R600a is flammable and explosive if ignited in enclosed conditions, so care must be taken during transport and installation to avoid damaging the cooler gas circuit.
- Power Supply: The appliance requires a 220-240V, 50Hz mains supply. Users should ensure that the voltage and connected load on the data plate match their mains electricity supply.
- Ambient Temperature Range: The fridge-freezer is designed to operate in ambient temperatures between 10°C and 43°C, depending on its climate class (SN, N, ST, T). Operating outside this range may affect cooling effectiveness.
- Compressor Protection: A 5-minute delay function is applied to prevent damage to the compressor after power outages or unplugging, allowing the gas in the cooling system to stabilize.
- LED Lighting: The appliance features LED lighting. If replacement is needed, it should only be done by authorized personnel.
- Altitude Limit: The appliance is not intended for use at altitudes exceeding 2000 meters.
Usage Features:
- Temperature Control: The display panel allows users to set the cooler temperature. The initial setting is 6°C, and pressing the "Set" button cycles through lower temperatures (8, 6, 5, 4, 2, Super, and Eco). The selected temperature blinks three times, and a "beep beep" sound confirms the setting.
- Super Cool Mode: Activates rapid cooling for the refrigerator compartment. It is selected by pressing the "Set" button until the "Super Cool" symbol appears. "Economy" mode cannot be selected simultaneously.
- Economy Mode: Optimizes energy consumption. It is selected by pressing the "Set" button until the "Eco" symbol appears. "Super Cool" mode can be selected, which automatically cancels "Economy" mode.
- Door Open Alarm: An audible "beep beep" alarm sounds if the refrigerator or freezer door remains open for more than 2 minutes.
- Temperature Indicator: Located in the coldest area of the refrigerator, this indicator displays "OK" when the temperature is set correctly for optimal food storage. If "OK" is not visible, the temperature may need adjustment.
- Adjustable Shelving: The appliance includes adjustable door shelves (Adapti-Lift) with six different height settings and retractable glass shelves (Adapti-Shelf) to provide flexible storage spaces.
- Chiller Compartment: Available in some models, this compartment helps food retain freshness and flavor longer than in the freezer or regular refrigerator. It is suitable for raw fish, rice, etc., but not for freezing food or making ice.
- Humidity Controller: Located in the crisper, this feature allows for longer storage of fresh fruits and vegetables. It can be set to a closed position for higher humidity or an open position if condensation is observed on the glass shelf.
- Freezer Baskets: The freezer compartment includes top, middle, and bottom baskets for organized storage of frozen foods. These baskets can be removed for easier access and cleaning.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: Before cleaning, the fridge-freezer must be unplugged. It should not be washed by pouring water directly. Inner and outer surfaces can be wiped with a soft cloth or sponge using warm, soapy water. Individual parts like shelves and trays should be removed and cleaned with soapy water, but not in a washing machine. Flammable, explosive, or corrosive materials should not be used for cleaning.
- Condenser Cleaning: The condenser (black-finned part at the rear) should be cleaned with a broom or vacuum cleaner at least once a year to ensure energy efficiency and increased productivity.
- Defrosting: The refrigerator automatically defrosts. The water from defrosting flows into a collection spout, then into a vaporization container behind the refrigerator, where it evaporates naturally. Manual defrosting is only necessary if ice buildup is excessive.
- Door Reversal: Depending on the model, the doors can be reversed. This is not possible if handles are attached to the front of the appliance. If the model does not have handles, door reversal can be performed by authorized personnel by contacting Sharp service.
- Long-term Storage: If the fridge-freezer will not be used for a long time (e.g., during summer holidays), it should be unplugged, cleaned according to the manual, and the door left open to prevent humidity and odors.
