ICPMS Preparing your instrument for shutdown
1. To flush out the system, aspirate with rinse solution for five minutes then DI
water for an additional three minutes.
2. Shut down the plasma by clicking the Plasma Off button in LabSolutions
ICPMS software at the bottom-left of the screen. Wait for the shutdown
sequence to complete.
3. Release tension on the peristaltic pump tubing by releasing the guide arms
and detaching tubing from the tube hangers.

Duct Exhaust and Cooling Water

Start duct exhaust system and supply cooling water after checking levels.

Roughing Pump and Gas Supply

Check roughing pump oil, turn on power, then turn on argon and helium sources.

Instrument and PC Power On

Turn on the main ICPMS power switch, then the PC and peripherals.

Vacuum Pump Down

Allow vacuum to pump down overnight before turning on the plasma.

Pressure Seal and Checks

Fill J-tube with water for pressure seal. Check glassware, cones, and pump.
