Setting the water softening sys-
tem
1.
Press ⁠.

Adding special salt
To avoid damage to the appliance, only add special
salt to the dispenser for special salt just before the
programme starts.

Unscrew the lid of the dispenser for special salt
and remove.
2.
On initial start-up: Fill the dispenser right up with
water.
3.
Add the special salt to the
dispenser. The water in the
dispenser is displaced and
forced out. Never add de-
tergent.
4.
Place the lid back on the dispenser and turn to
close.
Adding rinse aid

Press the catch on the lid
of the dispenser for rinse
aid and lift ⁠.

How to use your appliance
1.
Load the tableware.
Only clean tableware that is suitable for dish-
washers. Remove large remnants of food from
the tableware. Check that the spray arms can ro-
tate freely.
2.
Add detergent.

Switch on the appliance ⁠.
4.
Select the programme.
5.
Start the programme ⁠.
6.
Remove the tableware at the end of the pro-
gramme.
7.
To cancel the programme, press for
approx. 4seconds.
The programme is cancelled and ends after ap-
prox. 1minute.

Function Description

The dishwasher is designed to clean tableware efficiently using various wash programs and features. It incorporates a water softening system to optimize cleaning performance based on local water hardness, and dispenses special salt and rinse aid automatically. The appliance also features Home Connect functionality, allowing users to manage settings and monitor the dishwasher remotely via a mobile app. A dedicated Machine Care program helps maintain the appliance's internal cleanliness.

Usage Features

Setting up Home Connect: To utilize the smart features, users need to install the Home Connect app on their mobile device and follow the in-app instructions. A QR code is provided in the manual for easy scanning to connect the appliance. This feature enables convenient remote control and setting adjustments.

Water Softening System: The dishwasher includes a water softening system that needs to be configured according to the local water hardness. The manual provides an overview of water hardness settings, categorized as Soft, Medium, and Hard, with corresponding mmol/l ranges and LED indicators (0, 1, 2, or 3). To set this, users press the power button, then press "Setup 3 sec." for three seconds until the "S" LED flashes. Repeated presses of the "Start" button cycle through the hardness settings, indicated by the lighting of LEDs A, B, or C. The settings are saved by pressing "Setup 3 sec." again for three seconds.

Adding Special Salt: Special salt is crucial for the water softening system. To add it, the lid of the special salt dispenser is unscrewed and removed. For initial start-up, the dispenser should be filled completely with water before adding the special salt. The salt displaces the water, and detergent should never be added to this dispenser. After adding salt, the lid is replaced and turned to close. It is recommended to add special salt just before a program starts to prevent damage to the appliance.

Adding Rinse Aid: Rinse aid ensures streak-free drying. To add rinse aid, the catch on the lid of the dispenser is pressed, and the lid is lifted. Rinse aid is then poured up to the "max" mark. The lid is then closed until it clicks into position.

Adding Detergent: Detergent is added to the dry detergent dispenser. After adding the appropriate amount (indicated by markings for 15 ml, 25 ml, and 50 ml), the lid of the dispenser is closed until it clicks into position.

Operating the Appliance:

1. Loading Tableware: Only dishwasher-safe tableware should be loaded. Large food remnants should be removed, and users must ensure that the spray arms can rotate freely without obstruction.
2. Adding Detergent: As described above.
3. Switching On: The appliance is switched on using the power button.
4. Selecting a Programme: The manual lists several programs:
   • Intensive 70°: For heavily soiled items.
   • Auto 45-65°: Automatically adjusts cleaning based on soil level.
   • Eco 50°: An energy-efficient program.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning Filters: Regular cleaning of the filters is essential for optimal performance.

1. After each wash, users should check the filters for residue.
2. The coarse filter is turned anticlockwise and removed, followed by the entire filter system.
3. The micro filter is then pulled down to remove it.
4. The locking catches are pressed together, and the coarse filter is lifted out.
5. All filter elements are cleaned under running water.
6. The filter system is reassembled and reinserted into the appliance, turning the coarse filter clockwise until the arrow markings match up.

Cleaning Spray Arms: Blocked spray arm nozzles can impair cleaning.

1. The upper spray arm is unscrewed and pulled down to remove it.
2. The lower spray arm is pulled up to remove it.
3. The outlet nozzles on both spray arms are checked for blockages and any foreign bodies are removed under running water.
4. The lower spray arm is reinserted until it clicks into position.
5. The upper spray arm is reinserted and screwed firmly into place.

Cleaning Wastewater Pump: If water remains in the appliance, the wastewater pump may need cleaning.

1. The appliance must be disconnected from the power supply.
2. The filter system is removed.
3. Any remaining water is scooped out.
4. The pump cover is pried off using a spoon and gripped by the crosspiece.
5. The pump cover is lifted inwards at an angle and removed.
6. Any food remnants or foreign bodies in the impeller area are removed.
7. The pump cover is reinserted and pressed down until it clicks into position.
8. Finally, the filter system is reinstalled.

Troubleshooting: The manual includes a troubleshooting section that lists common faults, their causes, and solutions:

• Remnants of food on tableware: Causes include tableware being too close, overfilled baskets, blocked spray arm rotation, blocked spray arm nozzles, or soiled filters. Solutions involve rearranging tableware, cleaning spray arms, or cleaning filters.

• Rust spots on cutlery: Causes include non-rust-resistant cutlery or washing with rusting items. Solutions involve using rust-resistant tableware and avoiding washing with rusting items.
• Detergent residue in dispenser/tablet tray: Cause is blocked spray arms. Solution is to check and ensure spray arms rotate freely.
• All LEDs light up/flash or program not continuing: Indicates an electronic fault. Solution is to press the main switch button for approximately four seconds to reset and restart the appliance.
