Why won't my Siemens Circuit breakers close?
    • M
      masseydavidAug 2, 2025
If your Siemens Circuit breaker fails to close, it could be due to several reasons. First, check if the secondary control circuit is de-energized or if the control circuit fuses are blown; if so, energize or replace them. Damage to wiring, terminals, or connectors can also prevent closing, so inspect and repair as needed. Other potential causes include a failure of the charging motor, a faulty motor cutoff switch, or issues with the anti-pump relay contacts or the close coil. Also, verify the auxiliary switch NC contacts and the spring charged switch NO contact. Finally, inspect the close latch position and the operating mechanism for mechanical failures. If a mechanical failure is suspected, contact the factory or an authorized service shop.

What to do if Siemens SDV-4A experience nuisance tripping?
    • D
      Dustin EstesNov 15, 2025
If your Siemens Circuit Breakers experiences nuisance or false trips, it could be due to a nuisance or false closing signal. Check the relay logic and correct it if required. Another cause could be the closing coil being shorted to the ground. Check the wiring or coil to determine the problem. Also, check if the secondary control power is de-energized or control power fuses are blown and correct as indicated. Damage to wiring, terminals or connectors could also cause this problem, so check and repair if necessary. Ensure there is a tripping signal and check the trip coil, auxiliary switch, and tripping spring. If the problem persists, one or more of the vacuum interrupters may be held closed, or the tripping signal may remain energized. If a mechanical failure is suspected, contact the fac...
