Function Description
The Siemens dishwasher is designed for cleaning household tableware in private households and enclosed domestic environments, up to an altitude of 4000 m above sea level. It features a water softening system to treat hard water, preventing limescale buildup on tableware and appliance parts. The appliance incorporates an AquaSensor, an optical measuring device that assesses the turbidity of rinsing water to optimize water consumption and adjust programme strength, temperature, and run time based on soiling levels. The autoOpen Dry function automatically opens the appliance door during the drying phase for economical drying results. The dishwasher offers a range of programmes and additional functions to suit various washing needs:
- Programmes:
- Intensive 70°: For heavily soiled tableware and pots, with pre-rinse, cleaning at 70°C, intermediate rinse, and final rinse at 69°C, followed by drying.
- Auto 45-65°: Sensor-controlled programme that optimizes washing based on soiling, with pre-rinse, cleaning, intermediate rinse, and final rinse, followed by drying.
- Eco 50°: Energy-efficient and environmentally friendly programme for normally soiled tableware, with pre-rinse, cleaning at 50°C, intermediate rinse, final rinse at 48°C, and drying. This is the default programme.
- Silence 50: Reduced noise programme for mixed tableware, with pre-rinse, cleaning at 50°C, intermediate rinse, final rinse at 63°C, and drying.
- Glass 40°: Particularly gentle programme for delicate tableware, cutlery, temperature-sensitive plastics, glasses, and stemware, with pre-rinse, cleaning at 40°C, intermediate rinse, final rinse at 60°C, and drying.
- Speed 65°: Time-optimized programme for mixed tableware, with cleaning at 65°C, intermediate rinse, final rinse at 69°C, and drying.
- Speed 45°: Time-optimized programme for delicate tableware, with cleaning at 45°C, intermediate rinse, final rinse at 55°C, and drying.
- Machine Care 70°C: For cleaning the appliance when unloaded.
- Favourite: Allows saving a combination of programme and additional function.
- Additional Functions:
- VarioSpeedPlus: Reduces run time by 15% to 75% depending on the rinse programme. The additional function can be activated before the start of the programme and at any time while the programme is running. Energy and water consumption are increased.
- Half Load: For small loads, it is recommended to add less detergent. Shortens run time and reduces energy/water consumption.
- IntensiveZone: For mixed loads with different soiling levels (e.g., heavily soiled pots in the bottom basket and normally soiled tableware in the upper basket). Increases spray pressure in the bottom basket and holds maximum programme temperature longer, increasing run time and energy consumption.
- Tableware Arrangement:
- Top Basket: Adjustable height to accommodate larger items. Features side levers for easy adjustment.
- Bottom Basket: Designed for pans and plates, can hold large plates up to 31 cm diameter.
- Cutlery Drawer: For arranging cutlery with points and sharp edges downwards.
- Etagere: Cutlery shelf for small cups, glasses, or large cutlery items. Can be folded up if not needed.
- Folding Prongs: Used to securely position tableware like plates, pans, bowls, and glasses. Can be folded down if not needed.
- Detergent and Rinse Aid:

- Machine Care Programme: A dedicated programme (70°C) for removing grease, limescale, and food remnants from the appliance interior. It uses liquid machine care product or descaler in powder form in phase 1, and machine cleaner in phase 2. Recommended every 2 months or when the indicator lights up.
- Filter System: The filter system (micro filter, fine filter, coarse filter) removes coarse soiling. Filters should be checked after each wash and cleaned by removing, rinsing under running water, and reassembling.
- Spray Arms: Limescale and soiling can block nozzles. Spray arms should be cleaned regularly by unscrewing, removing, checking nozzles for blockages, and rinsing.
- Clean Wastewater Pump: If rinsing water does not drain properly, the wastewater pump may be blocked by food remnants or foreign bodies. It should be cleaned by disconnecting power, removing baskets and filter system, scooping out water, and carefully removing any obstructions from the impeller area.
