Hardware Installation
1. Select an appropriate location.
2. Connect your workstation to any available RJ-45 port on the switch using twisted-
pair cable.
All end-node devices must be within 328 ft (100 meters) of the connected hub.
Using the hub in a stand-alone configuration, you can network up to 5 workstations.
To connect a computer directly to the switch, plug one end of the cable into the
switch then plug the other end of the cable into the computer’s network adapter.
3 Plug in the AC power adapter.
NOTE: Each time your SpeedStream
®
2105 powers up, it will run a Diagnostic/Self-
Test. After the test is complete, the Power LED will light up.
4. As connections to the 2105's ports are made, each port’s corresponding
LINK/ACT will light up. The remaining LEDs will also light up according to how
your data is being transferred, e.g. full or half duplex, 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps.
