This document describes a fully automatic espresso machine, model TI955809CN, manufactured by Siemens Home Appliances.
Function Description
The Siemens TI955809CN is a fully automatic espresso machine designed for domestic use, capable of preparing a variety of coffee and milk-based beverages from freshly ground coffee beans or ground coffee. It features an integrated milk system for preparing milk froth and warm milk, and also dispenses hot water. The machine offers customizable settings for beverage strength, volume, milk ratio, and temperature, allowing users to create personalized drinks. It includes a user profile function to save individual preferences for up to 10 profiles, each with 10 drinks. The appliance performs automatic rinsing when switched on and off, and after preparing milk drinks, to ensure cleanliness.

Usage Features
- Display and Control Panel: The machine features a display (1) and control panel (2) for navigation and settings. A rotary selector (3) is used for navigation, starting/stopping operations, and confirming selections.
- Beverage Selection: Users can select from a range of beverages including Ristretto, Espresso Doppio, Espresso, Espresso Macchiato, Coffee, Coffee XL, Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Caffe Latte, Flat White, Café Cortado, Americano, Milk froth, Warm milk, and Hot water.
- Adjustable Outlet System: The outlet system (4) for coffee, milk, and hot water is height-adjustable to accommodate various cup sizes.
- Coffee Preparation:
- From Freshly Ground Beans: Fill the bean container (14) with coffee beans. The machine grinds beans for each preparation. Grinding level (15) can be adjusted during operation (finer by turning anticlockwise, coarser by turning clockwise).
- From Ground Coffee: Ground coffee can be added to the grind compartment (13) for single servings. The aromaDoubleShot function is not available when using ground coffee.
- Milk System (5): An integrated milk container (5) with a lid, riser, and connection hose is used for milk-based drinks. The milk container must be connected to the outlet system with an adapter and hose (Fig. 3).
- Customization:
- Coffee Strength (00): Adjustable through various levels from "very mild" to "extra strong," including "doubleShot" and "TripleShot" options for intense aroma.
- Milk/Coffee Mixing Ratio (milk): For milk-based drinks, the percentage of milk can be set.
- Cup Size (ml): Beverage volume can be adjusted in ml increments (not available for Ristretto).
- Two Cups at Once (2 cups): Allows simultaneous preparation of two cups of the selected drink.
- Water Temperature (left navigation button): Adjustable for different tea types (e.g., green tea, rooibos tea, white tea, black tea, fruit tea).
- AromaIntense (right navigation button): Adjusts the intensity of the coffee taste.
- User Profiles (P): Create, edit, or delete user profiles to save personalized beverage settings.
- Childproof Lock (2): Activates or deactivates a childproof lock by pressing and holding the milk button for 4 seconds, preventing accidental operation.
- Cup Warmer (11): The machine includes a cup warmer with an LED display (12) that can be activated/deactivated in the menu.
- "Barista Mode": This mode allows direct adjustment of temperature and aromaIntense via the navigation buttons on the display.
Maintenance Features
- Daily Care and Cleaning:
- Appliance Exterior: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
- Display: Clean with a micro-fiber cloth.
- Drip Tray (6) and Coffee Grounds Container: Empty and clean daily to prevent deposits.
- Milk Container (5): Dismantle and clean all parts regularly, either manually with detergent solution and a soft cloth (Fig. 6) or in a dishwasher.
- Milk System: Automatically cleaned with a short jet of steam after each milk drink. Manual cleaning is recommended weekly or more frequently, with additional rinsing with water (Rinse milk system program).
- Brewing Unit (Fig. 4, 8): Remove regularly for thorough cleaning under running water without detergent. The coffee grounds slider (red) and brewing unit cover (red) should also be cleaned.
- Service Programmes (∞/i): The machine prompts users to run service programs based on usage and water hardness. These can also be started manually.
- Rinse Milk System: Cleans the milk system with water and steam (approx. 2 minutes).
- Descaling: Removes limescale deposits (approx. 21 minutes). Requires descaling tablets.
- Cleaning: Cleans the brewing unit and internal components (approx. 6 minutes). Requires cleaning tablets.
- Calc'nClean: Combines descaling and cleaning functions (approx. 26 minutes).
- Water Filter (D): Reduces limescale and impurities. The appliance indicates when the filter needs changing (every 2 months or after a certain interval). New filters must be rinsed before use.
- Frost Protection: A program to completely empty the appliance to prevent frost damage during transport or storage.
- Cleaning Agents: Only use descaling and cleaning tablets specifically designed for the appliance. Avoid corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents, those containing alcohol or spirits, and hard scouring pads. New sponge cloths should be thoroughly washed before use to prevent rust film on stainless steel.
