Overview

The Sierra LSV (Low Speed Vehicle) is an electric vehicle designed for various applications, including personal use, rentals, and fleets. Function Description

The Sierra LSV is an electric vehicle primarily designed for low-speed operation. It features a key-switch or an optional Bluetooth Key Fob for activation. The vehicle is equipped with a Drive (D), Neutral (N), and Reverse (R) selector, which must be in Neutral before starting. An accelerator pedal controls speed, and a brake pedal provides stopping power. The vehicle also incorporates a motor braking system for downhill speed control and automatic park brake engagement when stopped or the key is off. Headlights, taillights, turn signals, and hazard lights are integrated for visibility and safety. Usage Features

  • Start-up Procedure: Requires the DNR selector to be in Neutral, key turned to ON, and then selecting Drive (D) or Reverse (R).
  • Safety Warnings: The vehicle includes various safety decals and an LCD display warning at start-up. It emphasizes reading the owner's manual, operating from the driver's side, keeping the body inside the vehicle, and using seat belts.
  • Passenger Capacity: Designed for two persons per bench seat. The AX3 accommodates six passengers, and the AX4 accommodates four passengers.
  • Driving Conditions: Users are advised to reduce speed in rough terrain, wet/icy roads, steep slopes, and sharp turns. It is not intended for highway use and should not be driven on slopes steeper than 18% grade.
  • Motor Braking: Assists in controlling downhill speed and slows the vehicle to a stop when the accelerator is released.
  • USB Port: A 5-volt 1/2.1 amp USB port is available for charging portable devices.

    • Daily: Owner checks battery posts, charger cord, and ensures proper securing of battery and charger.
    • Weekly: Owner charges battery after each daily use.
    • Monthly: Owner or trained technician checks battery connections.
    • Semiannual (every 50 hours): Trained technician checks brake shoes, lubricates the brake system, inspects brake cables, adjusts brake cable equalizer, checks electrical wiring and connections, and performs front wheel alignment and camber.
    • Annual (every 100 hours): Owner or trained technician manually checks all battery connections, inspects and replaces safety decals, checks battery performance, and inspects the pedal group for free movement.
  • Battery Care:
    • Charging: Instructions for connecting the charger, ensuring proper ventilation, and avoiding charging frozen or damaged batteries. The charger has a status indicator with codes for heavy output, low power, charging progress, and full charge.
    • Storage: Recommendations for battery state of charge during storage (at least 60% for less than a month, 80% for up to 6 months) and temperature limits (-4°F to 131°F). The battery power switch should be OFF during storage.
    • Recycling: Lithium batteries should be taken to an approved recycle center.
  • Cleaning: Hand-washable front and rear bodies using automotive cleaners. Avoid pressure washing or steam cleaning. Use non-abrasive wax products, but not on black plastic materials. Seats can be cleaned with a 10% liquid soap and warm water solution.
  • Towing: Instructions for placing the vehicle in TOW mode, turning the key switch OFF, and disconnecting the battery before towing. Maximum towing speed is 5 mph (8 km/h).
  • Transporting on a Trailer: Guidelines for securing the vehicle, removing the windshield and seat bottom, and using an approved trailer with adequate load rating.
  • Error Codes: The manual provides a comprehensive list of LCD error codes with corresponding fault names, causes, and corrective actions for troubleshooting.
